HALSEY NAMED SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR AT BMI POP AWARDS – (05/11/2021)

Halsey was named songwriter of the year at the 2021 BMI Pop Awards. The artist wrote four of the year’s most performed songs: “Nightmare,” “Graveyard,” “Be Kind” and “You Should Be Sad.” 

In an acceptance speech, they said, “It is a very very very strange time in this world and music is more important than ever. I am so grateful for the way that Manic was received worldwide.”

The pregnant singer clutched their belly as they continued, “I’m super looking forward to where my musical journey takes me and the songs that I have yet to write and all the new things happening in life that I’ll get to write about.”

NICKI MINAJ RETURNS TO SOCIAL MEDIA – (05/11/2021)

After months of silence, Nicki Minaj returned to social media yesterday (May 10th). The rapper shared two photos of herself sitting on a desk, wearing pink crocs and covering herself with heart shaped pillows. She captioned the photos, “F R I D A Y,” which has fans thinking she may be dropping new music this week.

Nicki has been absent from social media since January and she hasn’t released a solo track since “Yikes” in February 2020. Last year, she dropped collaborations with Davido, NBA YoungBoy, Sada Baby, and Ty Dolla $ign.

OLIVIA RODRIGO WILL DROP ‘GOOD 4 YOU’ FRIDAY – (05/11/2021)

Olivia Rodrigo’s next single “good 4 you” will drop Friday (May 14th). 

The “Driver’s License” singer wore a cheerleader outfit and long, black latex gloves while posing next to a trophy in the cover image shared to Instagram Monday (May 10th).

Rodrigo also announced that se will perform the new track when she makes her debut on Saturday Night Live this weekend (May 15th). 

KATY PERRY SHARES COVER ART FOR POKEMON SINGLE – (05/11/2021)

Katy Perry dropped the cover art for her collaboration with Pokemon on Monday (May 10th). 

The American Idol judge wrote on Instagram, “I know y’all have been waiting for this one and it’s almost here!”

The new single, “Electric,” released in honor of Pokemon’s 25th anniversary is currently available for presave.

J LO AND BEN AFFLECK SPENT DAYS AT MONTANA GETAWAY – (05/11/2021)

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have busted out of the friend zone, TMZ reports. The pair were spotted at the Big Sky Resort in Montana, which is right near Yellowstone National Park

They were spotted in the same car, with Affleck driving and J. Lo riding shotgun. An insider who saw them out told TMZ that they were acting like a couple. They also flew out of Montana back to L.A. together, and drove back to her home in Bel-Air. 

“[Jennifer] spent several days with Ben out of town. They have a strong connection. It’s all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy,” a source told People

The former couple were also spotted hanging in L.A. recently, igniting rumors that they’re back on.

KYLIE JENNER AND TRAVIS SCOTT ON TRIPLE DATE? – (05/11/2021)

Are Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott back on? The pair have been spotted multiple times out and about together. Their last spotting was Sunday night at Catch LA in West Hollywood, on an apparent triple date with Justin and Hailey Bieber and Kylie’s sister Kendall and her NBA star boyfriend Devin Booker

Their romance rumors ignited full-force last weekend when she flew to Miami earlier this month to celebrate Travis’ birthday with him, posting flirty videos of them dancing together on IG Stories.

‘GREY’S ANATOMY’ RENEWED WITH ELLEN POMPEO INKING MEGA-DEAL – (05/11/2021)

ABC has renewed its flagship drama Grey’s Anatomy for a record 18th season, after star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo managed to ink a rich new deal. Financial terms were not disclosed, but insiders tell The Hollywood Reporter that she managed another salary bump. Pompeo remains the highest-paid actress in a primetime drama show on broadcast TV. (In 2017, she signed a deal giving her $20 million a year). 

O.G. cast stars Chandra Wilson (Bailey) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard) have also closed new deals to return for season 18, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Grey’s spinoff, Station 19, is also set to return for season 5. No word yet on Grey’s future post-season 18. Deliberations between ABC’s parent Disney and Pompeo were underway for months. 

The series is still doing very well; it’s No. 1 in the 18-49 demo, averaging north of 15 million total viewers and 6.18 in the demo, up 4 percent vs. season 16.
