At a gala in Los Angeles last night, Selena Gomez was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. She also is the cover star of the latest issue of the publication, in which she talks about her life right now, including changes in her love life and her body.

Following her kidney transplant earlier this year, Selena says, “I just kept thinking about how much my body is my own. Ever since I was seven, my life always felt like I was giving it to someone else…[but after the surgery] I had this sense of gratitude for myself.”

As for the scar from the operation, Selena says, “It was really hard in the beginning.” But, she adds, “When I look at my body now, I just see life.”

As for the rest of her, Selena says there are “a million things I can do” to improve her appearance, but adds that for now, she’s “OK” with how she looks.  “ I don’t have perfect abs, but I feel like I’m wonderfully made,” she explains. However, she says there’s “nothing wrong” with plastic surgery.

On the romance side, Selena says that she and her former boyfriend The Weeknd, have a “true friendship,” adding that they ended their relationship “as best friends.” As for letting Justin Bieber back into her life, she explains, “I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away.”

On the topic of sexual harassment, Selena says she’s never personally experienced it, but adds, “I definitely feel hopeful” that changes will be made thanks to those brave women who’ve spoken out about it.

Other highlights from the event:

Kelly Clarkson was honored as this year’s Powerhouse. When asked what the term “powerhouse” meant to her, Clarkson said with a laugh: “I guess it’s someone who walks into a room and, like them or hate them, they’re here!” The singer shared why she isn’t too afraid to get political, especially in the current climate. “I feel like, for me personally,  it’s important to be involved and it’s important to show my fans to be involved. You should stand for something.”

Camila Cabello was honored as Billboard’s Breakthrough Artist. She kicked off the show with a stripped down performance of her highest-charting solo hit “Havana.” Following the performance, Diplo presented her with the award, which she accepted with a heart-warming speech that praised her mom. “The only reason I’m standing on this stage and on this soil in this country is because of one woman, my mom… thank you to the woman of life.” She proceeded to recall how her mom tells her, “the only way to live life is to live it intensely” and concluded by saying, “I have the most incredible example of what it means to be a woman… this is for my mom.”

Sam Smith can’t get enough of the newly-engaged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The singer tells U.K.’s The Sun it would be his “dream” to sing at the wedding.

“I’m obsessed. I want to sing at the wedding,” Sam says. “Oh my God I’d love to, it would be a dream.” He jokingly adds, “I’d have to wear a dress and a crown, though.”

If he doesn’t get to attend the royal nuputal in person, he’ll just have to celebrate from afar – which is what he did for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding.

“I woke up at 6am, downed a bottle of wine and went and sat in Hyde Park,” he recalls. “I was wasted the whole day, running around London with a flag.”

As for his own wedding, Sam says, “I wouldn’t have a traditional ceremony. I want to have a wedding in Italy, with loads of pasta and wine. Nothing very formal, everyone in linen suits.”

Sam dates 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn. He said, “I’d love to get married one day. But I’d want to have the wedding after being with someone for a long, long, long time.

Ed Sheeran has released a remix of his current single “Perfect,” which features Beyoncé.

While it’s their first official track together, Sheeran and Queen Bey did join forces to perform “Drunk In Love” at the Global Citizen Festival in 2015. They also both took part in the GRAMMY tribute to Stevie Wonder that same year.

The duet version follows the previously released acoustic version of the song – with Ed singing the first verse and chorus accompanied by acoustic guitar and organ.

Beyoncé takes the second verse – switching the lyric from “I found a woman…” to “I found a man…”

Ed and Beyoncé trade lines and harmonize on the second chorus, and sing a third chorus together in full harmony.

The original song appears on his third album ÷ (Divide), which was nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy category

Sheeran recently said that is working on his next album. “I’ve got a rough outline of it – I’ve probably got about nine songs that I really like. But that could all change tomorrow if I think of nine new songs to replace them,” he told Time Out.

In the current animated feature film The Star, Kelly Clarkson lends her voice to a horse named Leah. Today, you can catch her playing herself – in animated form – on Home: For the Holidays, a Christmas special based on the Netflix cartoon Home Adventures with Tip and Oh.

Home Adventures with Tip and Oh is a spinoff of the 2015 animated movie Home, which starred Rihanna as a little girl named Tip who meets an alien named Oh, voiced by Jim Parsons. In the TV series, their parts are voiced by Rachel Crow and Mark Whitten.

Kelly is part of the celebration as Oh spends his first Christmas on earth, and in the special, she sings “O Holy Night” and “Christmas Is a Feeling.”

Kelly also is getting into the holiday spirit with her new children’s book, River Rose and the Magical Christmas, which comes with her new holiday song, “Christmas Eve.”
