NBA icon Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant was laid to rest in a private service  last Friday (February 7th) in Corona Del Mar, Calif. A source told Entertainment Tonight, “Vanessa and the family wanted a private service to mourn their loss.  The ceremony was extremely hard for everyone as it’s still hard for them to grasp they lost two beautiful souls.”

The service was held at Pacific View Memorial Park.

Kobe and Gianna’s death certificates were acquired on February 11th and listed Kobe’s final cause of death was by “blunt trauma” in a “commercial helicopter crash.”

In related news, according to TMZ, the public memorial for Kobe and Gianna will be held at the Staples Center on February 24th and will be attended by friends, family, NBA officials and players, season ticket holders and local politicians. The remaining seats will be ticketed and go to members of the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

No word on how the public can get tickets to the memorial, but for people who won’t be able to attend, the memorial will broadcast on multiple TV networks.

WHY JUSTIN BIEBER’S WEDDING WAS DELAYED – (02/12/2020)

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got married in 2018 at a New York courthouse and then a year later, they finally had their ceremony. They’ve never explained why, until now. In the most recent episode of Seasons, Mrs. Bieber said: “We wanted to move in together, and we didn’t believe in doing that until we were married, so we got legally married.”

She said, neither of them were in rush to plan the ceremony and went on to explain: “Moving in together and living together, and getting to share space with each other and just keep learning more about each other, just took away all the pressure of the scary part of getting married.”

The couple got engaged in July of 2018 and got married 2 months later. They put the ceremony off for a year.

The whole story was revealed earlier this week on their show, Seasons, which airs on YouTube Premium.

OSCARS RESPONDS TO OMISSION OF LUKE PERRY IN MEMORIAM – (02/12/2020)

After a bout of criticism from social media, The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, who are responsible for the Oscars ceremony, responded with their justification for leaving out stars like Luke Perry and Cameron Boyce. “The Academy receives hundreds of requests to include loved ones and industry colleagues in the Oscars In Memoriam segment. An executive committee representing every branch considers the list and makes selections for the telecast based on limited available time,” the statement reads, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “All the submissions are included on Oscar.com and will remain on the site throughout the year. Luke Perry and Cameron Boyce are remembered in the Oscar.com gallery.”

The annual segment included celebrities such as Kobe Bryant, Kirk Douglas, and Doris Day, but many took to Twitter and Instagram in response to those left out—particularly Luke Perry, who had a role in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which was nominated for ten Oscars.
