LINDSAY LOHAN SAYS SHE WAS BULLIED: Lindsay Lohan says she was bullied in school. After Katie Couric interviewed bullied teen Whitney Kropp, Lohan detailed her own struggles. She tweeted, “@KatieCouric I think what you did today on your show for #WhitneyKropp was lovely. It had me crying. I’d love to meet her. #stopbullying. I was actually bullied @ my public school when i would leave to film. Whenever I came back… girls & boys would call me names. “They would yell things, try to trip me & more… I moved to home-schooling instead. In 11th grade. I stuck it out for a while. So I can relate to the girls that you spoke with on your show today. I appreciate you reaching out to them. xo.”
‘REAL HOUSEWIVES’ ON XANAX AT REUNION? The Real Housewives of New Jersey were so crazy while filming their recent reunion show — they needed to be medicated. Lauren Manzo, the daughter of Housewife Caroline Manzo, told Us Weekly of the gathering, “Xanax was being passed around like candy. There was so much yelling, [host] Andy [Cohen] was shouting at everybody to be quiet!”
MAGGIE RIZER IS PREGNANT: Maggie Rizer is pregnant with her second child. The model revealed that she and husband Alex Mehran are expecting their second son in March. They already have a son named Zander, who is 11-months-old.
MICHAEL DOUGLAS AND CATHERINE ZETA-JONES RENEWING VOWS? Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are reportedly planning to renew their wedding vows. The Daily Star claims that the couple is planning an event in Bermuda. It’s been a tough couple of years for the two, as Douglas battled throat cancer and Zeta-Jones spent time in rehab to deal with bipolar II disorder.
MSNBC ANCHOR MARRIES LONGTIME PARTNER: MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts married his longtime partner Patrick Abner in New York City last weekend. This makes Roberts the first cable news anchor to marry someone of the same sex. California’s Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom officiated the ceremony, which was witnessed by the likes of Sam Champion, Aviva Drescher, Meghan McCain, Judith Light, Wilson Cruz, Don Lemon, Carson Kressley and Nate Berkus.
‘RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE’ STAR DIES: Antoine Ashley, who was known as Sahara Davenport on RuPaul’s Drag Race, has died at the age of 27. Logo, the network on which the show airs, confirmed the sad news, saying, “Logo is profoundly saddened by the passing of Antoine Ashley who fans around the world knew and loved as Sahara Davenport. He was an amazing artist and entertainer who’ll be deeply missed by his Logo family. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, especially his boyfriend Karl, in their time of need.” The cause of death is unknown.
LENA DUNHAM REPORTEDLY SHOPPING BOOK: Lena Dunham is expanding her portfolio. The New York Post reported that the Girls creator/star is shopping a book proposal that is expected to fetch a minimum of $1 million. A source told the paper, “The top five bidders in this week’s auction will sit down with Lena on Friday for a meeting. She’ll then choose from those offers.”
ANN CURRY TO SPEND MORE TIME ON ‘TODAY’? Ann Curry will reportedly be receiving more camera time back on Today. Curry recently appeared on the show she was fired from as a correspondent reporting from the Syrian border. A source told RadarOnline.com, “She certainly didn’t like getting sacked from being the co-host, but Ann is making the best of the situation and is a true professional. Fans of the TODAY show let the network know they missed seeing Ann and the plan going forward is to use her more. Hopefully that might bolster the show’s falling ratings.”
‘BOARDWALK EMPIRE’ RENEWED: HBO has renewed Boardwalk Empire for a fourth season. The network announced, “Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their outstanding team continue to produce a stunning show that never fails to surprise and entertain. We are excited to bring this unique series back for a fourth season.”
Oprah Winfrey is the highest paid woman in Hollywood. Forbes Magazine has released their list of Hollywood’s highest paid women and Oprah came in at number 1 — making a whopping $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Britney Spears came in at number 2, making $58 million. Taylor Swift came in third, earning $57 million.
- The rest of the list was full of ties between women making the same amount of money in the past year. Rihanna and Ellen made $53 million each, while Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga tied with $52 million. In a three-way tie, Gisele Bundchen, Katy Perry and Judge Judy made $45 million.
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are making music again. The Grease costars are releasing a holiday album on November 13th called This Christmas.
The project comes nearly 35 years after the pair became famous as lovers Danny and Sandy.
The album will feature an original song, called “I Think You Might Like It,” as well as a star-studded line up that features Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor and Kenny G performing Christmas classics.
In a statement about the project, Travolta said, “From the moment we decided to do this, magic happened. Everyone we contacted agreed to do it. My desire was to make This Christmas an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy. I wanted people to be able to play it around the house or in the car during the holidays, and make us part of your celebration.”
- Newton-John added, “We all felt a wonderful, joyful energy while recording this album. We want to make a lot of people smile and happy.”
