‘ROCKY’ MUSICAL OPENS IN GERMANY: Sylvester Stallone was in Germany over the weekend to open a new musical based on Rocky. He teamed up with champion boxing brothers Vladimir and Vitali Klitschko to adapt the film to stage. The show is expected to come to Broadway in 2013

‘AMERICAN CHOPPER’ CANCELED BY DISCOVERY: The Discovery Channel has canceled American Chopper. The show, which follows the motorcycle-building shop of the Teutul family, has been on the air for 10 years and has spawned a line of video games.

NBC GIVES SCRIPT COMMITMENT TO KENAN THOMPSON SERIES: Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson will star in a new series being developed for NBC and produced by Lorne Michaels. The show will be about Kenan’s character moving in with his in-laws.

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER HOLDS ACTRESS ROUNDTABLE: The upcoming issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine brings together 7 of Hollywood’s most successful actresses to chat about life in the film industry. Naomi Watts, Helen Hunt, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Rachel Weisz, Marion Cotillard, and Sally Field were chosen to make up the group.

JAMES FRANCO DIRECTED LINDSAY LOHAN IN REM MUSIC VIDEO: James Franco was tapped to direct the video for the first single off of R.E.M’s 15th and final album. The song is called Blue.

ROSIE O’DONNELL AND NENE LEAKES COVER FOR ANDERSON: Rosie O’Donnell and NeNe Leakes filled in for Anderson Cooper on Monday’s episode of his talk show while the reporter was on assignment covering the conflict in Gaza. The duo briefly discussed Donald Trump and the heart attack Rosie suffered back in August.

BOND VISITS THE TROOPS: Daniel Craig made a special stop in Afghanistan to visit the British troops at Camp Bastion. In addition to showing up for a special screening of Skyfall, the actor also took a tour of the camp, met with several soldiers, and shot off machine guns.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD NOT PREGNANT DESPITE RUMORS: The paparazzi snapped a picture of Evan Rachel Wood and her husband Jamie Bell and captured a moment when the actress was holding her stomach. The picture prompted pregnancy rumors but Wood shot down the gossip with a tweet saying “Sorry to disappoint. But no baby on the way here!”

KENDRA WILKINSON CALLS KELSEY GRAMMER DISGUSTING: Former playmate Kendra Wilkinson put Frasier star Kelsey Grammer on blast for attending a party at the Playboy mansion with his 3-month old daughter. Kendra told TMZ that she confronted him at the party and then left in protest.

PARIS HILTON OPENS HANDBAG STORE IN MECCA: Paris Hilton has received a lot of backlash on Twitter for blogging about her excitement to open a handbag store at the Mecca Mall in Saudi Arabia. The angry tweeters do not feel that Paris’ “porn star” past has a place in the holy city.

PETA is in an uproar over allegations that up to 27 animals died during the filming of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. Though none of the animals have been reported as dying on set, several wranglers have come forward to say that the New Zealand farm where the animals were housed had unsafe living conditions.

Jackson and the producers of The Hobbit have released an official statement rejecting all allegations that animals were mistreated. He insists that thousands of dollars were spent to improve the conditions that the animals were living in back in 2011 and that the wranglers who made these claims had been dismissed from the film over a year ago.

Barbara Walters took some time on Monday’s episode of The View to reveal some of her picks for her annual top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012 list. She mentioned seven of the noteworthy names who she will be sitting down with during her special airing on December 12.

Though she will not announce her top pick until the special airs, the list already boasts some names that made an undeniable splash this year. Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James, Olympian Gabby Douglas, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are just a few of the people she will be interviewing.

  • When her co-hosts asked her why Honey Boo Boo wasn’t mentioned, Barbara admitted that despite being ‘fascinating’ and a ‘phenomenon’ not everyone could make the list.
  • Ben Affleck, Hilary Clinton, Seth MacFarlane, and One Direction are also on her list.
