JAMES FRANCO WORKING ON TOP-SECRET PROJECT WITH PORN DIRECTOR: James Franco is teaming up with fetish porn director Princess Donna Dolore for a new secret project. The two both appear in the soon-to-be released film Kink.

DAN STEVENS NOT RETURNING TO ‘DOWNTON ABBEY’: Dan Stevens, who plays Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey, will not be returning to the show in its fourth season. It is unclear how his character will be written off of the show.

CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY MIGHT BE ‘LEFT BEHIND’: One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray is in talks to lead the big-budget reboot of the Left Behind series. Based on the popular faith-based book series, the previous films starred Kirk Cameron in the role for which Murray is being eyed.

J.J. ABRAMS TURNED DOWN CHANCE TO DIRECT ‘STAR WARS SEVEN’: J.J. Abrams told Empire magazine that he was in discussions to direct Star Wars Episode VII but turned down the opportunity. He said that he walked away from the discussions very early on because he would rather be a fan in the audience.

‘HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’ COMING BACK FOR SEASON NINE: An 11th hour decision was made to renew How I Met Your Mother for another season. All cast members had reportedly agreed to return except for Jason Segel who was the last actor to sign on for the ninth season.

KIM KARDASHIAN DEBUTS NEW HAIR COLOR: Kim Kardashian has dyed her hair back to the deep brown shade that closely matches her natural hair color. She had been sporting a light caramel color while filing Kim and Kourtney Take Miami.

‘GLEE’ CREATOR WELCOMES BABY BOY: Glee creator Ryan Murphy and his husband David Miller welcomed a baby boy into the world on Christmas Eve. Logan Phineas Miller Murphy was born at 9:47 A.M.

SAM CHAMPION MARRIES PARTNER: Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion married his partner Rubem Robierb on Friday (December 21st.) The couple met three years ago at a New Year’s Eve party.

‘ODD COUPLE’ STAR JACK KLUGMAN IS DEAD: Jack Klugman, best known for his role as Oscar Madison on The Odd Couple, has passed away at the age of 90 on Monday (December 25th.) His attorney released a statement saying he died peacefully in his California home.

ACTOR CHARLES DURNING HAS PASSED AWAY: 89-year-old actor and military veteran Charles Durning has passed away. He was best known for his Oscar-nominated role in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He was also Jessica Lange’s father.

Les Miserables and Django Unchained had big Christmas Day openings on Tuesday, the second- and third-best ever, respectively, for the holiday, behind only 2009’s Sherlock Holmes, which debuted on a Friday.

The musical Les Miserables took in $18.2 million in its debut. It stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway in Victor Hugo’s classic story from 19th century France, with music from the longtime stage smash. Co-starring are Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Eddie Redmayne.

Raking in $15 million was director Quentin Tarantino’s slave-era spaghetti western Django Unchained. Jamie Foxx stars as a freed slave trying to track down the wife he was separated from in the slave trade. He teams up with a bounty hunter, played by Christoph Waltz, who’s on the trail of a gang of killers. Co-starring are Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.

The family film Parental Guidance, starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as a couple who struggle to take care of their grandchildren when their daughter and her husband go on a trip, also opened on Christmas Day, taking in $6.4 million to put it in fourth place. Co-starring are Marisa Tomei and Tom Everett Scott.
