Wolfeboro Garage Fire

A CHIEF WITH THE WOLFEBORO FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS NO ONE WAS HURT BUT THE TOWN’S HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT GARAGE WAS DAMAGED AND A PLOW TRUCK DESTROYED BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON’S FIRE IN WOLFEBORO.

DEPUTY CHIEF TOM ZOTTI SAYS HIS DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO THE GARAGE AT 43 PINE HILL RD. SHORTLY AFTER 1 P.M. AND ON ARRIVAL FOUND HEAVY SMOKE AND FIRE.

A FIRST ALARM WAS REQUESTED, BRINGING ADDITIONAL HELP FROM FIRE DEPARTMENTS IN TUFTONBORO, CENTER OSSIPEE, OSSIPEE CORNER AND WAKEFIELD.

THE PLOW TRUCK WAS INSIDE THE GARAGE.

THE FIRE WAS BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND THE LAST CREW CLEARED THE SCENE SHORTLY AFTER 5:30 P.M.

THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL’S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE BUT IT’S BELIEVED TO BE ACCIDENTAL.

WOLFEBORO POLICE AND STEWARTS AMBULANCE ALSO ASSISTED.
