JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT TO BE HONORED FOR INDIE FILM: Dark Knight star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be crowned “Breakthrough Filmmaker of the Year” at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 18th. The film Don Jon’s Addiction marked his directorial debut and won rave reviews at Sundance.
JON STEWART TAKING A 12-WEEK HIATUS FROM ‘THE DAILY SHOW': The Daily Show host Jon Stewart has announced that he will be taking a 12-week hiatus from the show to direct a movie called Rosewater based on the 2011 book Then They Came For Me: A Family’s Story Of Love, Captivity, And Survival. John Oliver will guest host for eight weeks of new episodes during the hiatus.
‘ARCHIE’ COMICS TO HAVE A ZOMBIE STORYLINE: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a Glee writer who also helped fix the Spiderman Broadway musical, has worked out a deal to create a new line of Archie comics where a zombie apocalypse hits Riverdale. Roberto recently wrote the script for the upcoming Carrie remake starring Chloe Moretz.
HARRISON FORD TO APPEAR IN ‘ANCHORMAN’ SEQUEL: Harrison Ford has signed on for a role in the upcoming sequel to Anchorman. Harrison will play a legendary newscaster similar to Tom Brokaw.
‘LOST’ ALUM JOINS ABC DRAMA PILOT: Lost’s Naveen Andrews has joined the cast of the ABC pilot Reckless starring Patrick Fugit. Naveen recently wrapped a starring role opposite Naomi Watts in the film Diana.
TINA FEY WAS REJECTED BY PRINCETON: While promoting her upcoming film Admission on Live with Kelly and Michael, Tina Fey revealed that she was rejected from Princeton. She told the hosts, “My mom had had this dream ever since I was a baby, for some reason she wanted me to apply to go to Princeton. I was a good student, but I didn’t have any of that private school polish. I went in there and I was like ‘hi what’s up?’ and they were just like ‘No, no…'”
BRAD PITT ARRIVES IN FRANCE TO LAUNCH WINE LABEL: World War Z star Brad Pitt touched down in Marseille, France to prep the launch of his new wine label with Angelina Jolie called Miraval. Their first offering will be a rose to be unveiled on March 15th and a white wine coming this summer.
PETA SLAMS KIM KARDASHIAN FOR WEARING FUR: Kim Kardashian has caught the attention of PETA after being photographed wearing a fur to cover up her baby bump in Paris on Monday (March 4th.) The advocacy group sent a statement to Gossip Cop saying, “Children naturally identify and empathize with animals — so even though Kim and Kanye will undoubtedly serve as poor examples when it comes to kindness toward animals, perhaps their child will take after Aunt Khloe and choose kindness by rejecting fur.”
RUSSELL CROWE MIGHT BE DATING HIS ‘LES MISERABLES’ CO-STAR: Australia’s New Idea magazine is reporting that Aussie actor Russell Crowe has developed a “special relationship” with his Les Miserables co-star Samantha Barks. Samantha has been working out with the actor and singing with his band at gigs but her father insists they are just friends.
AMY POEHLER AGREES WITH TAYLOR SWIFT THAT SHE IS GOING TO HELL: Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler has responded to Taylor Swift’s comments in Vanity Fair that “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” which seemed to be directed at Amy and Tina Fey’s joke about Taylor at the Golden Globe awards. Poehler told The Hollywood Reporter, “Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”
Full House actor John Stamos will join forces with the Grammy-winning band The Black Keys on their upcoming album. Band member Patrick Carney revealed the collaboration to MTV News after making it known that they were “reaching for the stars” on the follow-up to their hugely successful El Camino.
Carney said, “We’re working with John Stamos. He’s actually performing the drums on our album.” Back in February, Stamos tweeted his admiration for the band saying, “@patrickcarney i love your drumming, love the black keys, love your HONESTY. you’re an inspiration to this ex teen idol. thanks man.”

Mila Kunis was doing a press tour to promote her new film Oz: The Great and Powerful when an interview with BBC Radio 1 took a bizarre but hilarious turn. Interviewer Chris Stark was so nervous that he forgot to ask about the movie and kept talking about himself while trying to convince the 29-year-old actress to join him for an afternoon with his friends.
A publicist standing by attempted to bring the conversation back to promoting the movie but Mila was having too much fun hearing about Stark’s ideal day so she rushed through the obligatory movie plug in under a minute.
One of television’s most iconic villains, J.R. Ewing, was killed off of TNT’s Dallas once and for all. J.R.’s days on the show were numbered ever since his portrayer, Larry Hagman, passed away back in November.
Hagman had filmed some of the episodes for the second season of TNT’s reboot of the hit prime time soap before his death and the writers felt it necessary to come up with a fitting exit for the character. Ultimately, they decided to revive the same question that took the nation by storm back in the 1980 third season finale of the original series — Who shot J.R.?
