Man Dies In Snowmobile Accident

A NEW HAMPSHIRE FISH AND GAME OFFICER SAYS A 56-YEAR-OLD CONNECTICUT MAN DIED SATURDAY AFTER HE CRASHED HIS SNOWMOBILE IN THE NORTH COUNTRY.

CONSERVATION OFFICER GLEN LUCAS SAYS A 911 CALL REPORTING A CRASH CAME IN SATURDAY ABOUT 2 A.M. ERROLL FIRE AND RESCUE, NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE AND CONSERVATION OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE SCENE ON 13 MILE WOODS TRAIL, ABOUT TWO MILES NORTH OF MILLSFIELD POND RD.

THE VICTIM WAS IDENTIFIED AS LOUIS VOEGELI JR. OF WOODBURY.

LUCAS SAYS VOEGELI WAS RIDING LAST IN A GROUP OF FOUR SNOWMOBILERS TRAVELING SOUTH WHEN HE FAILED TO NEGOTIATE A TURN AND HIT A TREE.

HIS BODY WAS TAKEN BRYANTS FUNERAL HOME IN BERLIN.

LUCAS SAYS THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH IS BEING INVESTIGATED BUT ALCOHOL DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A FACTOR.
