YOUTH WON THE DAY AT THE FORTIETH ANNUAL RED PARKA CHALLENGE CUP AS ROOKIE ACE TARBERRY (Tar-berry) BEAT FOUR-TIME WINNER BEN DRUMMOND TO BE CROWNED THE 2013 CHAMPION. BEN DIDN’T WALK AWAY EMPTY-HANDED, HOWEVER, HAVING THE FASTEST TIME OUT OF ANY MALE COMPETITOR IN THE EVENT WITH A RUN OF 25.44 SECONDS.

THE FASTEST FEMALE COMPETITOR WAS KELLY MCDONALD WITH A RUN OF 28.29 SECONDS.

OVERALL 117 RACERS TURNED OUT TO HELP MAKE THIS YEAR’S RED PARKA CHALLENGE CUP A DECISIVE SUCCESS. THIS YEAR’S EVENT HAD “POSSIBLY THE MOST FUNDS RAISED EVER,” SAYS TERRY O’BRIEN, CO-OWNER OF THE RED PARKA PUB. SHE DID NOT HAVE A FINALIZED TOTAL AT THE TIME OF THE COMMENT, HOWEVER. MORE INFORMATION ON THE  EVENT AND ITS WINNERS CAN BE FOUND ONLINE AT REDPARKACHALLENGECUP.COM.
