CONWAY POLICE HAVE CHARGED TWO 20-YEAR-OLD MEN FROM MAINE IN CONNECTION WITH AN ALLEGED ARMED ROBBERY IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT IN CONWAY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

LT. CHRIS PERLEY SAYS OFFICERS GOT A CALL SHORTLY BEFORE 4 P.M. FROM A WOMAN – WHO WAS IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE CONWAY MARKET PLACE NEAR BEA’S CAFÉ – WHO TOLD POLICE TWO MEN HAD JUST STOLEN HER PURSE AT GUNPOINT.

THE WOMAN WAS NOT HURT AND SHE TOLD POLICE THE MEN ESCAPED IN A WHITE ACURA SEDAN.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE TROOPER FIRST CLASS CLINTON TRUSSELL OF TROOP E IN TAMWORTH STOPPED THE CAR A SHORT TIME LATER ON VFW ROAD.

ONE OF THE SUSPECTS ALLEGEDLY THREW THE GUN THAT WAS USED OUT OF THE CAR DURING THE ESCAPE, BUT IT WAS RECOVERED. PERLEY SAYS IT HAD BEEN STOLEN IN FRYEBURG.

ISAAC WHITE OF ICE HOUSE RD. IN FRYEBURG IS CHARGED WITH TWO CLASS A FELONIES – ARMED ROBBERY AND RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY – AND ONE CLASS B FELONY OF FALSIFYING PHYSICAL EVIDENCE – HE FACES A POTENTIAL MAXIMUM PRISON TERM IF CONVICTED OF 37 YEARS IN THE STATE PRISON AND $12,000 IN FINES. WALTER PEEK-ANTOLIN OF SWAN RD. IN BROWNFIELD IS CHARGED WITH ONE CLASS A FELONY OF CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANOTHER. HE FACES A MAXIMUM 15 YEARS IF CONVICTED – AND $4,000 IN FINES.

PERLEY SAYS THERE’S BEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN CONWAY OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS OF BOTH ROBBERIES AND ARMED ROBBERIES.

PERLEY THANKS NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE AND FRYEBURG POLICE FOR THEIR COOPERATION IN THE CASE.

BOTH SUSPECTS ARE DUE TO APPEAR IN CONWAY DISTRICT COURT MONDAY AFTERNOON.
