SIMON COWELL RETURNING TO UK ‘X FACTOR': Simon Cowell has announced that he will have a more active role in the upcoming season of the UK edition of X Factor after the season nine finale hit a six-year low in the ratings. He left the judging panel for the show back in 2010.
DEBRA MESSING CAST IN CBS PILOT: NBC’s Smash has yet to get the official axe but star Debra Messing has already signed on to star in a new half-hour sitcom for CBS. Messing will also serve as co-executive producer on the untitled project.
BLAKE LIVELY IN TALKS FOR FREDDIE MERCURY BIOPIC: Blake Lively is in talks to star opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in the upcoming biopic about Queen singer Freddie Mercury. Blake would play Freddie’s former girlfriend Mary Austin.
SETH GREEN TO STAR IN SETH MACFARLANE’S NEW SHOW: Seth Green, who provides the voice of Chris Griffin on Family Guy, has landed the lead role in Seth MacFarlane’s multi-camera comedy pilot Dads. The project has already earned a six-episode order from Fox.
‘BREAKING BAD’ SCRIPT STOLEN: Someone has stolen Bryan Cranston’s script for an episode of the final season of Breaking Bad. Cops have arrested a man who was responsible for breaking into Cranston’s car earlier this month but the script has not been recovered.
GWYNETH PALTROW TO OPEN A BLOW DRY BAR: Cosmopolitan.com is reporting that Gwyneth Paltrow is partnering up with her business partner and trainer Tracy Anderson and stylist David Babli to open up a blow dry bar in the Brentwood neighborhood in L.A. The store is slated to open on April 4th.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER VISITS TILDA SWINTON: Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick stopped by New York’s Museum of Modern Art on Monday (March 25th) to watch Tilda Swinton sleep in the performance art piece, “The Maybe.” Parker also turned 48 that day.
LINDSAY LOHAN WANTS TO GO TO COACHELLA: A source tells Radar Online that Lindsay Lohan is trying desperately to have her legal team push her rehab start date until after the Coachella Music Festival in April. The source said, “Lindsay was adamant that she not be forced to go to rehab until after the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the Palm Springs area on successive weekends in April. Lindsay LOVES going to the musical festival, and she’s determined to go this year. She didn’t want a little thing like rehab to get in her way of attending. Linds refused to sign off on any deal that would have prevented her from going to Coachella, period. Yes, it’s that important to her, for some strange reason.”
LORI LOUGHLIN TALKS ABOUT RELATIONSHIP WITH JOHN STAMOS: Full House actress Lori Loughlin says that the timing was just off for her and on-screen husband John Stamos to develop a romance in real life. She told Huff Post Live, “I was actually married at the time that I was doing the show and then I got divorced. And then when I got divorced, John met Rebecca Romijn and he got married, so our timing was just really off. I don’t think it ever entered our minds that it would be something more. ”
Will Smith Turned Down Django Unchained
Will Smith has explained why he decided to turn down the lead part of Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said, “Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead!” The character that Will was referring to is bounty hunter King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz.
Will continued, “I was like, ‘No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!'” As the result of Will passing on the role, Jamie got the part.” He added, “I thought it was brilliant. Just not for me.”
- Last summer, Will claimed that he passed on the part due to scheduling. He said in a previous interview,”I came really close, it was one of the most amazing screenplays I had ever ever seen. I was in the middle of ‘Men In Black 3′ and [Tarantino] was ready to go, and I just couldn’t sit with him and get through the issues, so I didn’t want to hold him up. That thing’s going to be ridiculous. It is a genius screenplay.”
Halle Berry Planning a Move To France
Halle Berry has revealed that she still has plans to move to Paris — but when Nahla is 18. As previously reported, Halle has been wanting to move to Europe with fiance Olivier Martinez, but her ex Gabriel Aubry has fought her through the courts on it.
Halle told Hello Magazine, “It probably won’t be until my daughter is 18 and off to college.When Nahla turns 18, she’ll be legally able to make her own decisions about where she wants to be and I think that then, when she’s off on her own, we’ll move there. It’s where I want to end my days, that’s for sure.”
- Halle also spoke on learning French. She said, “I was told very lovingly by him not to work on it too hard now but to wait until we get to live there. Because for me, at my age and with all that I already have on my plate, trying to learn French is probably one of the hardest things I could possibly do. He thinks I’ll have an easier time when we’re living there and immersed in the culture – if we ever get to go that is.”
