JIM CARREY GOES AFTER FOX NEWS: Jim Carrey’s FunnyorDie.com video about gun regulation ignited a firestorm of criticism from gun advocates and conservative commentators. Carrey has issued a statement to his critics at Fox News saying, “In my opinion Fux News is a last resort for kinda-sorta-almost-journalists whose options have been severely limited by their extreme and intolerant views. A media colostomy bag that has begun to burst at the seams and should be emptied before it becomes a public health issue.”

ARIEL WINTER CASE HEADED TO TRIAL: L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas has decided the case regarding Ariel Winter’s guardianship will head to trial in October where they will determine whether her mother should regain custody of the 15-year-old. Ariel’s attorney told the judge, “It’s a work in progress. There’s been no advancement in terms of reunification.”

JEREMY RENNER IS A DAD: The Avengers star Jeremy Renner has become a father. His girlfriend Sonni Pacheco gave birth to a seven pound baby girl named Ava Berlin Renner on Thursday (March 28th.)

REESE WITHERSPOON GOES BRUNETTE: Reese Witherspoon has ditched the blonde locks and dyed her hair brunette. There is no indication whether or not the drastic change is for an upcoming film role.

KIRSTIE ALLEY SLAMS ANTIDEPRESSANT AD: Kirstie Alley’s devotion to scientology reared its head when the former Dancing with the Stars contestant tweeted her disapproval over a commercial for anti-depressant medication. The actress wrote, “HOW is it legal to INTICE people to down TWO mind altering drugs by using cartoon characters to depict the DRUGS? ABILIF.”

ANGELINA JOLIE TENTATIVELY WINS ‘IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY’ LAWSUIT: Angelina Jolie has temporarily won the lawsuit that accused her film In the Land of Blood and Honey of ripping off the book The Soul Shattering by James Braddock. A U.S. district judge has decided that there were not enough similarities between the two works to be a copyright violation. Braddock has until April 12th to show cause why the case should not be dismissed.

HBO SETS PREMIERE DATE FOR ‘TRUE BLOOD’: HBO has announced that the sixth season of True Blood will premiere on June 16th. The upcoming season will be only 10 episodes as opposed to the usual 12-episode cycles of the series.

NBC PUSHES ‘GIRLFRIEND IN A COMA’: NBC has decided to postpone the sitcom Girlfriend in a Coma after they couldn’t find a suitable actress to replace Christina Ricci in the lead role. The series is based on a book of the same name by Douglas Coupland and co-stars Miranda Cosgrove.

MATTHEW BRODERICK CAST IN CBS PILOT: Matthew Broderick has signed on as the lead in an untitled CBS pilot from creator Tad Quill. The show focuses on a recently widowed father who is raising his 12-year-old son while jumping back into the dating pool.

FORMER CAST MEMBERS RETURNING TO ‘DOCTOR WHO’ FOR 50TH ANNIVERSARY: Former Doctor Who cast members Billie Piper, David Tennant, and John Hurt will be returning to the series to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the show. The special will be part of the celebrations planned by the UK’s BBC for November. Filming will begin this week.
