THE CARROLL COUNTY ATTORNEY IS PRAISING HER LEAD PROSECUTOR IN THE CASE AFTER THE SENTENCING OF A 34-YEAR-OLD ALBANY MAN WHO WAS CONVICTED ON SEVEN DIFFERENT CHARGES IN CONNECTION WITH THE BEATING OF A 2-YEAR-OLD BOY IN LATE 2011 THAT LEFT THE CHILD WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.

*ROBIN GORDON SAYS ASST. COUNTY ATTORNEY SUSAN BOONE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN THE CASE THAT LED TO JUSTIN ROY OF ODINA DR. BEING SENTENCED TO 22 AND A HALF TO 45 YEARS AT THE NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE PRISON.

ROY WAS SENTENCED IN OSSIPEE TUESDAY BY A SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE. A CARROLL COUNTY JURY RETURNED THE GUILTY VERDICTS AGAINST HIM IN FEBRUARY AFTER HEARING MORE THAN A WEEK OF TESTIMONY..

ROY – WHO LIVED IN HIS HOME AT A PARK IN ALBANY WITH THE BEATEN BOY’S MOTHER – WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN EARLY APRIL, 2012 AFTER A JOINT INVESTIGATION BY THE CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE.

GORDON BELIEVES ROY INFLICTED BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA ON THE BOY IN AN OUTDOOR SHED. AFTER THE ASSAULTS WERE REPORTED ON DEC. 19, 2011 THE VICTIM WAS INITIALLY TAKEN TO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN NORTH CONWAY BEFORE BEING TRANSFERRED TO MAINE MEDICAL CENTER IN PORTLAND, WHERE HE WAS TREATED AND LATER RELEASED.
