MTV RENEWS ‘SNOOKI & JWOWW’ AND ANNOUNCES NEW SHOWS: MTV announced at their upfront event on Thursday (April 25th) that Snooki & JWoww has been renewed for third season. The network also revealed that they have given a pilot order for a series based on the Scream movie franchise in addition to the unscripted shows Generation Cryo and Nurse Nation.
GUILLERMO DEL TORO DEVELOPING HBO SHOW: Director Guillermo del Toro is teaming up with HBO to develop a series based on the Japanese manga series Monster. The story revolves around a young doctor’s search for the most evil sociopath that has ever lived who happens to be a 12-year-old boy.
UNIVERSAL SETS RELEASE DATE FOR ‘DRACULA': Universal’s revival of the Dracula franchise will hit theaters on August 8th, 2014. The film stars Luke Evans and is described as an origin story of the man who eventually becomes the infamous Dracula.
NBC SETS SUMMER PREMIERE DATES: NBC has announced that their unscripted shows The Winner Is… and Hollywood Game Night will debut back-to-back on July 11th. It was also announced that the scripted drama Crossing Lines will have a two-hour premiere on June 23rd.
‘DUCK DYNASTY’ FINAL BREAKS RECORDS: The season finale of A&E’s Duck Dynasty was the highest rated cable and broadcast series in the 18-49 demo on Wednesday night (April 24th.) The episode pulled in nearly 10 million viewers which helped it break its own record for the network set last February when it premiered to 8.6 million viewers.
JENNIFER ANISTON IS TOO IN LOVE FOR A PRENUP: OK! magazine is reporting that Jennifer Aniston is completely against having Justin Theroux sign a prenup. She has reportedly been telling friends that she is choosing love over money. Jen previously told the magazine, “I couldn’t be in a relationship without equality, generosity, integrity, spirit, kindness, and humor.”
MARTHA STEWART SAYS SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE FAMOUS AS A MODEL: Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart is in the new issue of Parade promoting her new book Living the Good Long Life: A Practical Guide to Caring for Yourself and she reveals to the magazine that she thinks she had the potential to be a big deal in the modeling industry. Martha says, “I knew I was good enough to get $60 an hour, which was the going rate at the time. I wasn’t the cover girl. I wasn’t Suzy Parker. But I should’ve been. Maybe if I had had somebody encouraging me. But then I got married when I was 19.”
KYLE RICHARDS’ ADVICE FOR POTENTIAL REALITY STARS: The Real Housewives don’t have the greatest track record for stable marriages but Kyle Richards who remains happily married to husband Mauricio Umansky has some advice for anyone thinking about getting into reality TV. She told E! News, “Honestly, you know, there’s a stigma…that all the Housewives get divorced. My husband and I have a really strong solid marriage, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken have a very strong, solid marriage, but I think if you have any cracks in your marriage then you really shouldn’t do a reality show. Because it will not survive.”
SYLVESTER STALLONE’S FAMILY DOG HAS DIED: Sylvester Stallone’s family puppy Phoebe who went missing a few weeks ago was found dead after a coyote attack. The family had put up missing posters offering $10,000 for the return of their beloved pet but someone eventually found Phoebe on the family’s property.
CHLOE MORETZ SAYS SHE IS JUST A NORMAL TEEN: 16-year-old Carrie star Chloe Moretz has a number of hit films under her belt but she insists that she is just a regular teenager. She tells Nylon magazine, “I’m a normal 16-year-old girl who’s no different from my friends, but on the other hand, I have to portray that glamorous image of, like, Dior Couture! Chanel! Prada! That’s a character. It’s ‘the star,’ not ‘the girl.’ So in my brand, it’s all in one package. That’s just what you have to do.”
