Is LiLo’s Rehab Legit?

Lindsay Lohan was all set to start her 90-day mandatory treatment at Seafield Center in New York today (May 2nd) but pulled a last minute switcheroo by flying out to California to stay at Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach instead. While her attorney Mark Heller met with the judge and prosecutors to see if this change was acceptable, TMZ discovered that Morningside is actually not a licensed rehab facility.

According to the website, the California Dept. of Alcohol and Drug Programs revoked Morningside’s license in May of 2012. Deputy Director of Licensing and Certificates Millicent Tidwell confirmed that Morningside cannot give any treatment and is only permitted to provide a sober living environment.

  • Judge Jim Dabney gave prosecutors until May 10th to investigate whether Morningside will be suitable enough for Lindsay to carry out her treatment.
  • It is believed that Lindsay refused to attend Seafield because she would not have been allowed to smoke cigarettes there.
