JAMES VAN DER BEEK’S SITCOM GETS SERIES ORDER: Though his ABC sitcom Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23 was cancelled earlier in the year, CBS has picked up James Van Der Beek’s latest pilot Friends With Better Lives about a group of 30-somethings who each think the other has it better. James tweeted, “Very excited to tell the mother of my kids that her husband officially has a job! #SOpsyched Happy Mother’s Day.”

RE-RELEASE OF ‘DJANGO UNCHAINED’ FLOPS IN CHINA: A newly edited version of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained flopped after being re-released in China over the weekend. The film was yanked from theaters last month to have some scenes containing nudity taken out but the new version earned far below expectations.

RESTAURANT CHAIN TO BE ADAPTED TO FEATURE FILM: Production companies Benderspink and Broken Road have acquired the rights to make a film about the Middle Ages-themed restaurant chain Medieval Times. The restaurant has just nine locations but has hosted over 53 million visitors.

KEVIN SMITH TWEETS ABOUT ‘CLERKS III': Kevin Smith announced on Twitter that he has finished the first draft of the script for Clerks III. Smith wrote, “IT IS ACCOMPLISHED! First draft of CLERKS III is 137 pages. Plays like the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK of the Clerks trilogy.”

NBC TO AIR LIVE STAGING OF ‘THE SOUND OF MUSIC': NBC has announced plans to air a three-hour live staging of The Sound of Music on Thursday, December 5th. Carrie Underwood has been cast to as the lead role of Maria previously played by Julie Andrews in the film version.

ASHTON KUTCHER AND MILA KUNIS GO ON A DOUBLE DATE: Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were spotted on a double date over the weekend with England’s Princess Beatrice and Dave Clark. The foursome dined at Duck & Waffle before barhopping and allegedly taking tequila shots at a Spanish restaurant in Kensington.

LENA DUNHAM PLANNING NEW YORK CITY BENEFIT: Girls creator Lena Dunham is planning a fundraiser to benefit Brooklyn’s Lutheran Medical Center. The event will take place on May 18th at Chelsea Piers and she has already pulled in $1.2 million in ticket sales.

HOLLY MADISON REVEALS WEDDING DATE: Former Girls Next Door star Holly Madison has announced that she will be marrying her boyfriend Pasquale Rotella on August 14th. The news was revealed during Holly’s documentary special called Holly Has a Baby which aired on E! on May 12th . Holly’s baby Rainbow Aurora was born on March 5th.

FARRAH ABRAHAM SAYS SHE’LL SHOW HER SEX TAPE TO HER DAUGHTER: Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has revealed that she plans to show her sex tape to her daughter once it’s time for her to learn about sex. The 21-year-old revealed on a radio show, “When she’s around 13 or 14…gets on her period, and is like, ‘Ooh, I kinda want a boyfriend,’ I think that’s the year to be like, ‘Look Soph…’ I have a baby box for her, it has all the DVDs of ‘Teen Mom,’ it has my book, and of course, my video and some other things. I do not hide things.”

KARINA SMIRNOFF SUFFERS INJURY DURING ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ REHEARSALS: Karina Smirnoff was rushed to the hospital on Sunday (May 12th) after failing to land a flip during Dancing with the Stars rehearsals with her partner Jacoby Jones. Karina landed on Jones twisting her neck and banging her face. Though she tweeted that she was “still a bit sore,” she insisted it would not keep her from this week’s show.

Angelina Jolie Double Mastectomy

Angelina Jolie has revealed she recently underwent a double mastectomy after genetic tests determined the actress faced a high probability of developing breast cancer.

The Girl, Interrupted Oscar-winner announced the news in a New York Times column published Tuesday titled “My Medical Choice,” saying that she wanted to avoid the same fate as her mother, who died at age 56 after battling the disease for a decade.

“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made,” Jolie wrote in the essay. »


Barbara Wa-Wa Announces Retirement

Barbara Walters confirmed the widely speculated rumors tht she will be retiring from television next year. The 83-year-old made the ananouncement during Monday’s (May 13th) episode of The View in a heartfelt speech which ended with her thanking the loyal viewers who have been watching her on television over her 50 year career.
