Spielberg released a statement saying, “The Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at that intersection where technology and myth-making meet to produce something truly groundbreaking.”
RICKY GERVAIS SHOW GETS NETFLIX PREMIERE DATE: A new series called Derek starring Ricky Gervais will make its debut stateside via Netflix on September 12th. The show is about a naive man who works in a nursing home. It has already been renewed for second season over in the UK where it premiered on Channel 4.
CAROL BURNETT WINS MARK TWAIN PRIZE: TV icon Carol Burnett will be honored with the 16th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center. ASHLEY TISDALE FEARS FOR HER LIFE: High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has filed court documents stating that she believes her alleged stalker is a delusional and dangerous man who may attempt to cause severe bodily harm to Ashley and her boyfriend. Tisdale is hoping to get a judge to extend the 100 yard restraining order to 5,000 yards. A hearing has been set for June 5th.
BARBARA WALTERS’ DAUGHTER HAS BEEN ARRESTED: Barbara Walters’ daughter Jacqueline Walters Danforth was arrested for DUI on Sunday (May 19th) and was reportedly so out of control that she had to be taken to the ground so she wouldn’t run into traffic. TMZ is reporting that the 44-year-old began shouting and became unruly when the cops tried to put the cuffs on her.

Apparel Industries is countersuing Lindsay Lohan for $5 million claiming that Lindsay’s bad reputation has made it impossible to sell their 6126 clothing line to distributors — a collaboration between D.N.A.M. and Lohan. Lindsay is trying to sue the company for $1.1 million in damages for stiffing her on massive licensing fees.

World War Z star Brad Pitt says he can recall the moment he decided to stop being a Hollywood cliche and start making the best of the opportunities presented to him. The 49-year-old father of six appears on the cover of the June/July issue of Esquire where he discusses the life change he decided to make 10 years ago.
Brad tells the magazine, “I spent years f–ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany – a decision not to squander my opportunities. It was a feeling of get up. Because otherwise, what’s the point?” He goes on to say, “For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing.”
