Paula Deen Update
It doesn’t appear that Paula Deen’s interview on the Today show did her much good since sponsors continue to cut their ties with her and new stories of her prejudice views are coming out. Another one of the chef’s former employees has come forward and revealed to the National Enquirer that Paula allegedly used homophobic slurs to refer to her employees at her Georgia eatery Lady & Sons.
Following her interview with Matt Lauer on Wednesday (June 26th,) Paula lost partnership deals with huge retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Home Depot who have all released statements expressing that they do not plan on ordering any additional Paula Deen products after their current stock runs out. Paula also lost her job as a rep for the diabetes medication Novo Nordisk which she scored after famously revealing her diagnosis with the disease which she hid from the public for several years.
- At the time of her Today show interview, Paula had only lost two business partners. She has now lost six.
- Martha Stewart appeared on Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live and gave her thoughts on the situation to Andy Cohen. She said, “I feel sorry for Paula Deen. She’s a public figure. And I know you have to be extremely careful being a public figure.”
