OLSEN TWINS ACCUSED OF COPYING DESIGNERS FOR FASHION LINE: Celebrity stylist Lyse Cooper revealed to Vogue Italia that the Olsen twins have had successful fashion lines because their designs aren’t entirely original. Cooper explained, “The only one that’s any good, and I hate to say it, are our girls, the twins. The Row. But the reason that works, is because they hired designers. They ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ the concepts. And they are the best line at ripping off other lines that I’ve ever seen. I mean, they’ve taken Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester. But it’s good. You know, they’re good at it. I don’t buy it, but they’re good at it.”
ZACHARY QUINTO AND JONATHAN GROFF ARE OVER: Perez Hilton is reporting that Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto is no longer dating former Glee star Jonathan Groff. Sources tell the blogger that things did not end well between them. They dated for nearly a year.
KENDALL JENNER HAS A SECRET BOYFRIEND: Star magazine is reporting that 17-year-old Kendall Jenner has been quietly dating her high school sweetheart Julian Brooks. Julian is a 19-year-old football player for the University of Nevada. The couple reportedly spent 4th of July together at Bruce Jenner’s Malibu home.
LAUREN CONRAD THINKS REALITY TV HAS CHANGED: 27-year-old former MTV star Lauren Conrad recently spoke to Us Weekly about her roots on reality shows and expressed how she thinks the genre has changed since the days of Laguna Beach and The Hills. Lauren said, “I think reality television is very different than it was a few years ago. I think people are going more and more for shock value. And as much as The Hills was laced with scandal and catfights and whatnot, I think it was still meant to be an aspirational show. We were working toward something, we were living our lives, we were having relationships. I think there was still a little bit of heart in our show — at least I like to think so.”
‘SHARKNADO’ SEQUEL IS HAPPENING: Syfy has announced that the Ian Ziering/Tara Reid social media hit Sharknado will be getting a sequel which will be set in New York City. The network released a statement saying, “Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm – on television. The fans are clamoring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel. What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun. We’ll be announcing more details very soon. But we didn’t want our fans to worry they wouldn’t get their fill of more shark fin, I mean, fun next year.” There is no word on whether Ziering or Reid will be in the second film but both actors have expressed interest in being part of a follow-up.
‘BOB’S BURGERS’ TO BECOME A COMIC BOOK: Twentieth Century Fox and Dynamite Entertainment have announced that they’ve partnered up to develop a comic based on Bob’s Burgers. Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci released a statement saying, “We could not be more pleased to add Bob’s Burgers to our line of comics. It’s stylish and hilarious, a feel-good concept that can be both heartwarming and mischievous at the same time. When we told our team that we were approaching Fox for the license, everyone lit up at the opportunity. We look forward to working with our partners at Fox to put out a fantastic product that will appeal to readers of all ages.” The company also announced plans to give Twilight Zone the comic book treatment as well.
KEITH OLBERMAN HEADING BACK TO ESPN: It was announced on Wednesday (July 17th) that Keith Olberman is heading back to TV with a new sports show on ESPN2 starting on August 26th. Olberman released a statement saying, “Apart from the opportunity to try to create a nightly hour of sports television that no fan can afford to miss, I’m overwhelmed by the chance to begin anew with ESPN. I’ve been gone for 16 years and not one day in that time has passed without someone connecting me to the network. Our histories are indelibly intertwined and frankly I have long wished that I had the chance to make sure the totality of that story would be a completely positive one. I’m grateful to friends and bosses – old and new – who have permitted that opportunity to come to pass. I’m not going to waste it.”
PARAMOUNT PUSHES ‘PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5′: Paramount has moved the fifth installment of the Paranormal Activity series from its original October 25th release date to January 4th, 2014. The company has decided to release the film Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa in its place on that date instead.
DAVID BECKHAM TO STAR IN BRITISH KIDS’ SPORTS TV SHOW: Newly retired soccer superstar David Beckham has accepted a gig to star in a new kids’ TV show in the U.K. aimed at getting British children excited about sports. The series will be called Game Changers. Beckham explained to TV Biz, “It’s an ambition of mine to inspire more young people to take part in sport. I’m excited to be one of a great group of athletes contributing to Game Changers and working with Sky, who have the passion to make it happen.”
Emma Roberts Arrested Following Domestic Dispute
Scream 4 star Emma Roberts was photographed getting emotional with her boyfriend Evan Peters on Tuesday (July 16th) in New Orleans after news broke that she was arrested for fighting with him in Canada back on July 7th. TMZ uncovered the details surrounding the arrest which occurred after police were called to the couple’s Montreal hotel room and found Evan with a bloody nose and bite marks on his skin.
A rep for the 22-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight, “It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it.” Peters reportedly declined to press charges and his girlfriend was released a few hours later.
