BILL COSBY IS WORKING ON A NEW TV SHOW: Bill Cosby revealed to Yahoo TV that he is working on a new TV project. The 76-year-old is reteaming with a producer behind The Cosby Show but he insists that it will not be a remake and will explore the relationship between older children and their parents. He explained, “I want to be able to deliver a wonderful show to a network. Because there is a viewership out there that wants to see comedy, and warmth, and love, and surprise, and cleverness, without going into the party attitude. They would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting, and the comedy of people who make mistakes. Warmth and forgiveness. So I hope to get that opportunity, and I will deliver the best of Cosby, and that will be a series, I assume, that we could get enough people week after week after week to tune in to, to come along with us.”
NBC ORDERS MORE ‘SEAN SAVES THE WORLD': NBC has ordered five additional episodes of freshman sitcom Sean Saves the World. JESSICA BIEL IS HELPING LANCE BASS PLAN HIS WEDDING: Jessica Biel is taking some of the experience planning her wedding to Justin Timberlake and offering her services to her hubby’s former bandmate Lance Bass. Lance recently revealed to Us magazine, “I’m so glad I went to Chris’ wedding because I forgot about some of my old management company people. And then we were sitting there talking to Jessie Biel, too, and she gave us a lot of great pointers. And she had some really great ideas. One really cool idea she had was that, on the invites — because we love our onesies — send out personalized onesies to all our guests so that at midnight after the reception it turns into a pajama party. How fun would that be? I think we might be doing that one. That was something we both loved.”
KRISTEN BELL CALLS OUT PEREZ HILTON: Kristen Bell is the latest celebrity to call out Perez Hilton for feeding into the paparazzi culture by posting photos taken of stars against their will. Tiffany’s?’ And I opened it, and there was just a million crickets and they all jumped out all over me and I screamed and cried and it was awful.” Jennifer chose not to retaliate.
Rep Says Tom Cruise Quotes Out Of Context
Tom Cruise’s team is in overdrive doing damage control after details of his lawsuit deposition against the publisher of Life & Style emerged last week. According to Tom’s rep, there have been misconstrued reports that Tom admitted Scientology was partially to blame in his divorce from Katie Holmes in addition to a quote that he compared his job to fighting in Afghanistan.
The rep released a statement on Saturday (November 9th) saying, “Tom Cruise has resisted suing the tabloids for years but has always drawn the line when it comes to lies about his family – which is solely what the current legal case is about. Headlines stating he equated his job with those in the military are demonstrably false. They are a distortion of what is provable and on the record. Certain websites have published only a part of the proceedings misleadingly selected by the defendant Bauer Publishing. What the excerpts leave out is the part where Tom was asked the question point blank ‘do you believe the situations (being in a movie and fighting a war in Afghanistan) are the same? and his immediate response was ‘oh come on!’ Meaning – of course not. Tom is a staunch supporter of our troops and does not feel that making a movie is even remotely comparable to fighting in Afghanistan and said so in plain English.”
- According to People, Tom also filed paperwork on November 5th to amend the comments made during the deposition that Katie left him to protect Suri from Scientology. He told the court, “Katie has never told me that Scientology was a reason for our divorce.”
