Monday Afternoon Accident In Fryeburg

POTVIN SAYS MONDAY NIGHT HIS DEPARTMENT SHUT DOWN WEST FRYEBURG RD. FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR WHILE FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL WORKED TO EXTRICATE A DRIVER IN A ROLLOVER CRASH.

THE DETECTIVE SAYS 42-YEAR-OLD STANLEY VLADYKA OF FRYEBURG WAS DRIVING A 1996 GMC PICKUP ON THE ROAD ABOUT 9 P.M. WHEN HE LOST CONTROL, CROSSED OVER THE ROAD, WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED OVER INTO A POWER POLE, CRUSHING THE TOP OF HIS PICKUP AND TRAPPING HIM INSIDE.

THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO BRIDGTON HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AND WAS REPORTED IN STABLE CONDITION. POTVIN SAYS THE MAN IS EXTREMELY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND SPEED AND ALCOHOL ARE BOTH CONSIDERED TO BE FACTORS IN THE CRASH.
