JONAH HILL TO HOST ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’ FOR THE THIRD TIME: Jonah Hill has scored another hosting gig for Saturday Night Live. The Wolf of Wall Street actor will return for the third time on January 25th with musical guest Bastille. His last visit to the show was in March of 2012 to promote 21 Jump Street.
REPORT: ‘FIFTY SHADES OF GREY’ MOVING SHOOT TO MIAMI: Several outlets are reporting that the Fifty Shades of Grey shoot is moving out of Vancouver due to bad weather. Spanish news agency EFE claims they have suspended production for two weeks to relocate to Miami in the hopes of getting a sunnier climate. According to The West Australian, production company reps explained their decision saying, “The downtown Miami skyline looks a lot like downtown Vancouver.”
BRITISH TOWN TO CHANGE NAME TO CELEBRATE ‘GAME OF THRONES’: The British town of Kings Langley plans to change its name to Kings Landing to celebrate season three of HBO’s Game of Thrones being released on DVD. A source told Radio Times, “A producer for the hit HBO show heard the town listed as a stop while waiting for a train at London’s Euston station and was inspired to instigate the name change.” The change will reportedly only happen for a week in February leading up to the DVDs which are coming out on February 18th.
GOLDEN GLOBES PRESENTERS ANNOUNCED: Mila Kunis, Reese Witherspoon, Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Downey Jr., Kevin Bacon, and Laura Dern have been announced as presenters at Sunday’s (January 12th) Golden Globe Awards. More names are expected to be revealed in the coming days. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host the show for the second year in a row.
NBC RELEASES FIRST ‘LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS’ PROMO: NBC has released a new promo for Seth Meyers taking over hosting duties of Late Night. The clip features a cameo from Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong and pokes fun at the fact that Seth’s new home is studio 8G — right next door to SNL’s famous studio 8H address. Late Night With Seth Meyers premieres on February 24th.
EMMA ROBERTS IS ENGAGED TO EVAN PETERS: Emma Roberts is engaged to boyfriend and American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters. Sources tell Extra that Evan popped the question with a pink and gold diamond ring while they were spending the holidays in New York City before flying to London for New Year’s. Roberts and Peters began dating in 2012 but things hit a rough patch last summer when Emma was taken into custody after allegedly attacking Evan in their hotel room. Evan did not press charges and their relationship appeared as strong as ever after news of the arrest broke.
EVA LONGORIA IS MAXIM’S WOMAN OF THE YEAR: Maxim magazine has named Eva Longoria their woman of the year for 2013. Eva reacted to the news by saying, “It’s especially awesome after how long it’s been since my first cover. I’ve had a beautiful relationship with Maxim over all these years…When someone sees the cover of this issue, they’re going to say, ‘¡Que rico!’…Say it when something is really good.”
CHARLIZE THERON AND SEAN PENN HAVE ANOTHER NIGHT OUT: Charlize Theron and Sean Penn were spotted hanging out again after spending the holidays in Hawaii together. The actors were seen “chit-chatting” and enjoying each other’s company as they left a screening of The Wolf of Wall Street at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood on Sunday (January 5th.) According to E! News, the possible couple were seen heading to Theron’s house where they reportedly spent the night together.
ZOOEY DESCHANEL ADMITS TO NOT BEING POPULAR AS A CHILD: New Girl star Zooey Deschanel appears on the cover of ELLE magazine’s February issue where she admits that she wasn’t very popular growing up. She tells the magazine, “Definitely none of the kids I grew up with would have ever thought, ‘Zooey will be on television and have her own show.’” Zooey goes on to say that having to deal with the mean girls in school gave her “built-in tenacity.” She adds, “Nothing has ever come easy for me, and I think that’s a really good thing. I learned at an early age that you have to work hard for what you get.”
CAMILLE GRAMMER WINS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST EX-BOYFRIEND: Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Camille Grammer has won a three-year restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos. Her request came after he allegedly attacked her back in October in their hotel room in Houston. Dimitri denies Camille’s claims but was charged with felony assault and choking. This is the second big victory for Grammer in less than a week. Last Friday (January 3rd) she tweeted that she has completed her chemo and radiation treatments for her endometrial cancer.
Steve Seagal Running For Gov?
Steven Seagal is thinking about running for governor in Arizona. The 61-year-old former action movie star spoke with Phoenix’s local ABC affiliate about his future in politics and what would be standing in his way.
The Above the Law actor said in the interview, “Joe Arpaio and I were talking about me running for governor in Arizona which was kind of a joke but I suppose I would remotely consider it but probably I would have a lot more other responsibilities that may be more important to address.” Seagal was then asked what he thinks is the most important issue for Arizona at the moment to which he responded, “I think its open borders. I think that across these borders any kind of terrorism can come, and does come.”
