KRIS JENNER’S TALK SHOW NOT COMING BACK IN 2014: Fox has announced that Kris Jenner’s talk show, Kris, will not be coming back to TV this year. The network said in a statement, “Kris will not be on the schedule for the 2014 syndication season. However, the possibility for the talk show, or an additional project for Kris Jenner, for the 2015 season is being discussed and highly considered.”
JIMMY FALLON TO GUEST IN FINAL WEEK OF JAY LENO’S ‘THE TONIGHT SHOW': Jay Leno will be welcoming his Tonight Show replacement, Jimmy Fallon, as a guest on his show during the final week that he still holds the job. Jimmy will make his appearance on February 3rd. It was previously announced that Billy Crystal and Garth Brooks will be Jay’s final guests on February 6th.
MERYL STREEP CONTACTED EMMA THOMPSON AFTER OSCAR SNUB: Meryl Streep revealed in a recent sit-down with Ellen DeGeneres that she contacted her friend Emma Thompson after the Academy snubbed her for an Oscar nomination for Saving Mr. Banks. Streep explained, “I was really shocked. And I wrote her a long, heartfelt email saying how bad I felt. And she wrote me back and said, ‘Good.'” Ellen will serve as host of the award ceremony being held on Sunday, March 2nd.
NBC TO HOST ‘PARENTHOOD’ CROSSOVER WITH ‘ABOUT A BOY': Parenthood executive producer Jason Katims revealed at NBC’s TCA event on Sunday (January 19th) that both Parenthood and his new show About a Boy exist in the same TV universe and there are already plans for a crossover episode. He explained, “It turns out Will — David Walton’s character on Boy — also has his own poker game so Dax Shepard will be making an appearance as Crosby Braverman on About A Boy.” Walton already made a brief cameo in the poker scene of last week’s Parenthood episode. Both shows are set in San Francisco.
HARVEY WEINSTEIN NO LONGER WANTS TO MAKE VIOLENT MOVIES: Movie producer Harvey Weinstein revealed to Piers Morgan on CNN on Friday (January 17th) that he no longer wants to make violent films. The man who previously produced Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Django Unchained told the host, “The change starts here. It has already. For me, I can’t do it. I can’t make one movie and say this is what I want for my kids and then just go out and be a hypocrite. I’m not going to make some crazy action movie just to blow up people and exploit people just for the sake of making it. I can’t do it.” Harvey admitted that he would continue to make films like Lone Survivor because they are “an accurate portrayal of our American military and their dedication to serving this country.”
BEN AFFLECK’S GENITALS GET BROUGHT UP AT PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS: Ben Affleck’s penis became a talking point at Sunday’s (January 19th) 25th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards. While accepting an award, CBS producer Chuck Lorre joked about peeing next to Ben at a urinal saying, “Yes I peeked. And yes, Comic Con, he can play Batman.” Affleck later took the stage and commented, “I was at the bar briefly, and I came back to my seat and somebody said, ‘You know, there was a guy up on stage who said you have a big d–k.’ I was like, ‘You know, isn’t that always how is goes? JARED LETO HASN’T SEEN ‘DALLAS BUYERS CLUB': Jared Leto has been raking it in during award season for his role in Dallas Buyers Club but he revealed to People at Saturday’s (January 18th) SAG Awards that he hasn’t even watched the movie. He explained, “I haven’t seen the film. I thought it was better to get some perspective first and let the film marinate. I’ll watch it one day.” Jared later told reporters after winning his award, “It’s wonderful to be part of a story that celebrates an important part of our history here in America and shines the light on the challenges that go with HIV/AIDS.”
BRADLEY COOPER BROUGHT SUKI WATERHOUSE TO THE SAG AWARDS: Neither Suki Waterhouse nor Bradley Cooper may be willing to discuss their relationship publicly but they don’t seem to be hiding it anymore. Cooper gave his mother the night off and brought Suki as his date to the SAG Awards on Saturday (January 18th) and made their red carpet debut as a couple. People is reporting that the couple have also been getting cozy at the Sundance Film Festival. They were photographed bundled up for winter and holding hands as they walked down the streets of Park City, Utah.
THE KARDASHIANS ATTEND CHARITY BOWLING NIGHT: Khloe Kardashian and her younger sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, hit up a charity event at PINZ bowling alley in Studio City, California on Sunday (January 19th.) The fundraiser was organized by rapper The Game and supported The Robinhood project. Khloe was previously rumored to be having a romantic fling with The Game but both insist that they are just friends.
‘BIG BANG THEORY’ ACTOR EXPECTING SECOND CHILD: Simon Helberg of The Big Bang Theory is expecting his second child with wife Jocelyn Towne. The couple walked the red carpet of the SAG Awards on Saturday (January 18th) with Towne proudly showing off her baby bump. Simon confirmed the news to Entertainment Tonight saying, “Yes, my wife is pregnant, I can’t take all the credit.” He also joked, “Every time I come to the SAG Awards there’s something about this night…About 8 months before the SAG Awards I get really the urge, I feel the romance and then we get nominated so it’s hand in hand.”
Gosselins On The View
Following last week’s debacle on the Today show, Kate Gosselin and her 13-year-old daughters, Mady and Cara, gave the talk show circuit another shot on Monday (January 20th) by sitting down with the women of The View. Although the girls were a bit more talkative this time around, the interview still had a few awkward moments.
- When asked by Sherri Shepherd about doing chores, Mady joked that she doesn’t help but Cara needed a little prodding from Kate who directed the answer by pointing to her daughter and sating, “After dinner, go for it…”
- Whoopi Goldberg asked the girls what they like to do and told the girls not to look at their mother for the answer.
- Barbara Walters later asked the girls if they see their father and after Kate gave Mady permission to answer the question, she simply said, “Um…” and fell silent.
- Mady and Cara also revealed that they would like to do another reality show.
