Mom Has Daughter Sell Girl Scout Cookies at Medical Marijuana Clinic
From a sales standpoint, it sounds like a brilliant idea — what better place to sell cookies than where people are buying pot? So San Francisco mother Carol Lei went with her 13-year-old daughter to sell Girl Scout cookies outside a medical marijuana clinic on President’s Day Monday (February 17th), where Danielle sold 117 boxes in two hours. Lei said her two middle-school-aged daughters have sold Girl Scout cookies outside medical marijuana clinics before, and that she usually has them set up at various places around the city so they can learn about different environments while earning money. She also said she thought it would be a good way to start a conversation about drugs and how some people use pot as medicine and others just to get high. The Girl Scouts of Northern California have no objection, telling Mashable.com, “The mom decided this way a place she was comfortable with her daughter being at. We’re not telling people where they can and can’t go if it’s a legitimate business.”
