‘TRUE DETECTIVE’ CREATOR TEASES SEASON TWO: True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto offered a little tease for the second season of the series during a recent interview with Hitfix. He told the website, “This is really early, but I’ll tell you it’s about hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system.” The season one ratings averaged 11 million viewers making the crime drama HBO’s highest rated freshman series since Six Feet Under in 2001 which had 11.4 million. The demand for Sunday’s (March 9th) finale was so high that it temporarily crashed the network’s streaming service HBO GO.

‘I F**KING LOVE SCIENCE’ TO BE COME A TV SHOW: Craig Ferguson announced at South by Southwest over the weekend that he is producing a new TV show for the Science Channel based on the Facebook page and blog I F**king Love Science created by Elise Andrew. He told the crowd, “If you know anything about me, you know I love science. Science has a naughty secret — it’s that all things are connected. And this show is going to explore the randomness of science. Think of it as a late night Google search that goes a hundred pages deep until things get weird — and then you just keep going. And there is no better partner for this kind of smart entertainment like Science Channel and Elise.”

FOX CANCELS ‘RAISING HOPE’: Fox announced on Monday (March 10th) that they will not be renewing the sitcom Raising Hope for a fifth season. Executive producer Mike Mariano said in a statement, “On behalf of myself, Greg Garcia and Raising Hope’s amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons. We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.”

GABOUREY SIDIBE JOINS ‘EMPIRE’: American Horror Story actress Gabourey Sidibe has scored a recurring role on Fox’s upcoming hip-hop industry drama Empire. DREW BARRYMORE CALLS HERSELF A BAD ACTOR: Drew Barrymore admitted in a recent article in the New York Times that she doesn’t think she is much of an actor despite having been in the business since she was six. She told the newspaper, “Steven told me, ‘Don’t act your characters. Be your characters.’ I don’t think I’m a good actor. I feel like its fake and yucky and it doesn’t ring true. But if you research and you study and make it personal, you just become that person, and it’s your truth and everything else around you falls away. Then you’re telling the truth, it’s not lying, it’s not fake. At 6, I guess I was comfortable and more humorous than I would have remembered now. But once I got older and kept continuing acting, I don’t know if I would have succeeded without that advice, because that’s the thing that saved me. I’m not an actor, I’m a pretender.”

GIULIANA RANCIC DISCUSSES KELLY OSBOURNE’S LOVE LIFE: Giuliana Rancic may be close with her Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne but the E! personality doesn’t have much advice in the love department for her friend. She told Radar Online, “I honestly wish I could think of someone in Hollywood right now, but I don’t know. I don’t know who’s worthy of being next to Kelly. Kelly’s one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. She is so much fun. I’m just smiling and laughing thinking about her. She’s just such a fun, great, warm, big heart, amazing girl. Honestly, it would take a really incredible guy.” Kelly announced her split from fiancé Matthew Mosshart shortly after New Year’s.

SUKI WATERHOUSE WAS SURPRISED BY BRADLEY COOPER’S BRAINS: Suki Waterhouse and Bradley Cooper’s romance has been going strong but the 22-year-old old model wasn’t always so keen on her beau until she saw how intelligent he is. He also always carries a backpack of very intellectual books with him to stave off boredom.” The insider added, “It’s what put off Jennifer Lopez when they dated very briefly. Bradley is actually an obsessive intellectual and a nerd in his private life.”

JENNIFER LAWRENCE FANS UNITE TO PROTEST MTV MOVIE AWARDS: Fans of Jennifer Lawrence are rallying together to protest the nominations for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards nominations over the fact that Katniss Everdeen was snubbed in the Best Hero category. The petition on Care2 has already gotten over 10,000 signatures requesting that the network add The Hunger Games character to the category by March 14th. The petition reads, “There is not a single woman in the Hero category. Don’t let a strong woman like Katniss be overlooked! Young women already have too few female heroes represented in film and television. We’re constantly shown by the entertainment industry that men are brave, powerful, or successful, while women are often given supporting roles and weak characters.”

They are beautiful people and have always been loving and supportive of me and my career. • She added, “By the way…I am NOT ‘Billie Jean!’”

Lena Dunham Apologizes

Lena Dunham has written a Twitter apology trying to explain her reasoning for tweeting an insensitive molestation joke on Sunday (March 9th) which she quickly deleted. The Girls star was responding to someone who told her she didn’t always have to get naked when she wrote, “Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He’s been making me!”

Lena’s apology reads, “I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy. SNL has a way bigger audience than our usual cozy girls audience, so I was seeing a rash of very different kinds of Twitter rage. But I should know better, and do. Even naked girls get embarrassed. Sleep well and thanks for an amazing weekend.”
