TV LAND PICKS UP HILARY DUFF COMEDY: TV Land has given a 12-episode season pickup for a new single-camera comedy called Younger. The show stars Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff and comes from Sex and the City creator Darren Star. The story follows 40-year old Liza– played by Foster — a suddenly single mother who tries to get back into the working world. Hilary plays her 20-something co-worker.
‘GLEE TO WELCOME BACK HEATHER MORRIS: Heather Morris is heading back to Glee after her brief stint in the 100th episode two-parter that aired last month. Her fan favorite character Brittany will be appearing in the finale of fifth season airing on May 13th. Her status on the show for next year’s sixth and supposedly final season is still unknown.
CHILDREN’S STORY BEATS OUT ‘FIFTY SHADES OF GREY’ AS MOST CHALLENGED BOOK: The children’s graphic novel called The Adventures of Captain Underpants beat out Fifty Shades of Grey as the most challenged book by the American Library Association. This is the second year in a row that Captain Underpants nabbed the top spot thanks to language that includes pee-pee, poopy, wedgie, and Dr. Diaper. It is aimed at the 7 to 10 age group.
‘MAD MEN’ RATINGS FALL: The seventh and final season premiere of Mad Men scored the lowest ratings for the show since the season two premiere in 2008. Sunday’s (April 13th) premiere drew in 2.3 million viewers in the 10 pm airing. The ratings were down 32% from season six which had 3.4 million people watching.
USA RENEWS ‘CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST': USA has announced that they have picked up their reality series Chrisley Knows Best for a second season. The network also ordered 12 episodes for the sophomore season now that the initial batch of eight episodes will wrap up on April 22nd.
JAMES FRANCO WANTS MORE FOLLOWERS: James Franco may want parents to keep their teens away from him but he is fishing for more followers on social media. The actor posted a new selfie to Instagram on Sunday (April 13th) from his bed and asked people to follow him by adding a caption, “I AMOST FOLLOW 3000!! AT 2M FOLLOWERS ILL FOLLOW 5000. DEAL? Cool” The caption makes fun of spambots that tend run rampant on Twitter and Instagram.
CHRISTINA HENDRICKS DOESN’T WANT KIDS: Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks has reveals in the May issue of Health magazine that she and husband Geoffrey Arend aren’t really interested in expanding their family. Christina told the magazine, “We’ve decided that we are not really interested in having children. It seems like it’s expected that you’d want to have kids. It’s just very normal for people to say, ‘Well, when you guys have kids…’ And then when I say, ‘Actually I don’t think we’re going to do that,’ people will say, ‘Oh, you say that now…’It doesn’t bother me, though. And, you know, there’s a small chance I could change my mind.”

She was photographed holding hands and making out with Thomas Cocquerel whom she allegedly met through friends not long ago. The pair attended the McDonald’s-Bootsy Bellows party. ROBERT PATTINSON RUNS INTO LIBERTY ROSS AT COACHELLA: Robert Pattinson had an awkward run-in with Liberty Ross at the H&M Loves Music party over the weekend. Despite their odd connection of being cheated on by Kristen Stewart and her Snow White and the Huntsman director, sources tell E! News that both Rob and Liberty just kept to their own groups. The insider revealed, “The two didn’t speak to each other, but both definitely saw each other. The whole experience was extremely awkward. He was cool, she was cool and they just kept moving along.”
THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR DIED OF A HEART ATTACK: An autopsy has revealed that a heart attack was the official cause of death of former WWE Superstar James Hellwig AKA Ultimate Warrior. The wrestler’s sudden death is being classified as natural which means that neither drugs nor alcohol played part. He passed away on April 8th after collapsing outside of his Arizona hotel. He was 54 years old.
American Idol Crew Looking For New Gigs???
American Idol may be on its last legs. Radar Online is reporting that employees at the long-running Fox reality competition are making efforts to find new work.
A source tells the website, “The crew and staff on Idol are not new to the industry and have been around the block before. They know a sinking ship when they see one. Anyone smart working on the show has already put out feelers for a new gig. The show is on its way out, and they don’t want to be dragged down with it.” The insider added, “All the judging changes and feuds have really hurt the show. They just can’t compete with The Voice. They have likable judges and talented contestants. Idol got too showy and lost sight of what the show was really there to accomplish.”
