A Fryeburg man was arrested last week on a felony domestic-violence charge after what police describe as a “brutal attack” on a female victim.
The victim, 27, was transported to Bridgton Hospital for treatment of her injuries and has since been released, according to Joshua Potvin, Fryeburg’s acting police chief. According to the Conway Daily Sun, Nathan Smith, 29, of Fryeburg, was arrested early Thursday morning, just after midnight, following a two-day search. He was located at a friend’s house and taken into custody without incident. Smith was taken to the Oxford County Jail for processing and charged with felony domestic violence assault based upon previous convictions and violating his conditions of release for previous reckless conduct and domestic-violence assault charges. Smith is currently out on $1,500 cash bail.
