Memorial Day Observances

At 8:00 am, the Madison American Legion will hold a ceremony at the Lyman Cemetery on High Street. At 8:30 there is a bus ride from Madison Town Hall to the Gilman Cemetery in East Madison for a ceremony at 8:45, followed by a parade at Madison Town Hall and a free community breakfast at the Fire Station.

At 8:30 in Jackson, a small parade starts at the J-Town Deli. The procession will end at the Jackson Village Cemetery. The VFW will then head to the Intervale Cemetery on Route 16-A.

At 11:30 in Bartlett, a procession will start near the ballfield to Fred Hodgkins Park at the elementary school.

At 11:45 in Conway, American Legion Post 46 will hold a wreath laying at the Conway Veterans Honor Roll at Kennett Middle School. At approximately 12:30 pm, they will gather at the Conway Village Cemetery for a raising of the colors, a military gun salute and a laying of a wreath.

In Maine, at 11:00 in Lovell Village an observance will be held at the Memorial Monument conducted by the Fryeburg/Lovell VFW Post 6783.

At 12:15 in Fryeburg, assembly for the Fryeburg parade will be at the Legion Hall. The parade is at 1:00 and proceeds down Main Street to Bradley Park, where there will be a memorial at the Gazebo. A flyover of vintage planes is expected.
