He told Huffington Post, “This was something that I pitched to HBO and show creator Alan Ball. But I think the direction we’re heading in is really exciting.”

SHOWTIME WANTS PILOT FOR NEW COMEDY ‘ROADIES’: Showtime has given a pilot order for a new comedy called Roadies — written, directed and executive produced by Cameron Crowe and executive produced by My So-Called Life creator Winnie Holzman and J.J. Abrams. The series will follow the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of the crew members who help get the show on the road. Cameron is a former writer for Rolling Stone magazine and used that experience as the basis for his film Almost Famous. He recently discussed the project saying, “We’re fans of crews, those workers up on the rigging towers, or walking feverishly with eight phones on their belt. Those quietly devoted people live huge lives, they’re often the real keepers of the flame.”

QUEEN ELIZABETH WILL VISIT THE ‘GAME OF THRONES’ SET: The British monarchy announced on Twitter that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will be going on a tour of the Belfast studio where HBO films Game of Thrones. The visit is part of a larger tour they have planned in Northern Ireland next week. The series recently wrapped up its fourth season last Sunday (June 15th.)

The studio reportedly wants the August release date for the upcoming N.W.A. biopic called Straight Outta Compton.

ARE GWYNETH PALTROW AND CHRIS MARTIN BACK ON?: Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s split may be over. A source close to the couple tells People, “They haven’t made any concrete decision to get back together yet, but clearly it’s a possibility. At this point, some of the pressure was just taken off them — pressure they put on themselves to ‘make it work.'” Chris has reportedly moved back into the Brentwood home he shared with Gwyneth and their two children. The insider added, “They have spent more time together than they did when they were a couple. When they are out together, all they do is laugh and act flirty and playful. Gwyneth didn’t want to end the marriage and is happy that she and Chris still have a close relationship. He’s been a great father and that has helped keep the flame alive. They clearly love each other and always will, and if the romance comes back, they’ll go with it if it feels right.”

DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON OPENS UP ABOUT PAUL WALKER’S DEATH: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson appears in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter where he opens up about the moment he learned that his longtime friend and co-star Paul Walker had died. He reveals to the magazine that he had been driving with his girlfriend Lauren Hashian at the time and said, “She immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew. I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath. We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength — because we had talked about our daughters. That’s what we would talk about. Both of us were divorced, and we talked about the power of being a dad and the strong connection of a dad and his girl. Then once we got home, we started bawling.” The former wrestler goes on to say, “He was a beautiful man, and in that crazy world, that’s really something.”

SUSAN SARANDON IS PSYCHED TO BECOME A GRANDMOTHER: Susan Sarandon attended the Coach Summer Party on the Highline in NYC earlier this week where she spoke to People about becoming a grandmother for the first time. She told the magazine, “I’m very excited to be a grandmother. It’s going to happen soon. She’s due in August. I’m making my way to L.A. and cleared August and most of September to be with her. I’m not sure I’ll be in the delivery room, but I’ll be available for whatever she needs.” When asked about the baby’s possible name, the Tammy star replied, “It’s not a vegetable, a city or a place. It’s a real name, but it’s unusual. I really like it.”

OLIVIA WILDE REVEALS REASON FOR SON’S NAME: Olivia Wilde attended the premiere of her new film Third Person in New York on Tuesday (June 17th) where she explained the reason she and Jason Sudeikis named their son Otis. She revealed, “He was named after Otis Redding. I’ve just always been a huge fan. I was a 10-year-old kid with posters of Otis Redding on my wall.” She went on to discuss how life has changed as a new mom saying, “The amazing thing about becoming a mother is it snaps everything into focus and really makes you understand what’s important. It’s tricky! It’s tricky for every mother, and I salute working mothers everywhere. We are warriors.”

HOW DID JENNY SLATE REACT TO BEING FIRED FROM ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’?: Former Saturday Night Live castmate Jenny Slate recently dropped by HuffPost Live to promote her film Obvious Child and discussed how she hates discussing her firing from the show. On the day that I got fired, I ordered four pizzas, ripped into a bong and was like, ‘Well, I don’t know, man.’ This is interesting.” The 32-year-old also revealed what she learned about the whole experience saying, “It looks like I’m just gonna keep getting really, really happy and sad and embarrassed and excited and disappointed for the rest of my life, so let’s just do that.”

Kanye Gets Monopoly For His Birthday

What do you get someone who can afford almost anything? A board game, apparently.

Us Weekly is reporting that Kim Kardashian bought Kanye West a new Monopoly set for his birthday. The version is a completely customizable edition of the classic Hasbro game which won’t actually hit stores until August.

  • My Monopoly allows players to create their own game pieces, Chance and Community Chest cards, and property spaces.
  • Kim supposedly replaced Park Avenue with the Palace of Versailles, where they had their rehearsal dinner prior to their wedding and Italy’s Fort Belvedere occupies the Broadway space.
  • The gift allegedly cost the reality star $19.99. Kim previously bought her rapper hubby a $750,000 Lamborghini when he turned 35.
