HARRISON FORD IS ADJUSTING WELL TO USING A CRUTCH: Harrison Ford’s Star Wars set injury left him with a broken leg but he has reportedly been adjusting well to using a special crutch he’s been fitted with called the iWalk. A rep for the company that makes the iWalk told People, “I wish everybody was so easy. He gets it. He’s mechanically inclined. He’s a tough guy. He was in very good spirits — he was alert and very sharp. He wants his independence. When you use normal crutches, you’re passive in your recovery, and you’re not using your leg, so you’re atrophying from day one. With this, you’re not. So it’s a very active way to do recovery.” It is still unclear how long the Oscar-winner will be out of commission.
KATHERINE HEIGL THOUGHT ABOUT QUITTING ACTING AFTER BEING BETRAYED BY HER CAREER: Katherine Heigl says that she felt betrayed by her own career in a new interview featured in the August issue of the UK version of Marie Claire. She tells the magazine, “This thing that was my best friend for a long time suddenly turned on me. And I didn’t expect it. I was taken by surprise and angry at it for betraying me. I had a moment where, I don’t know, I was thinking, ‘Maybe open a knitting store, get my money out of retirement accounts and live off that, live off the land. I had my moment where it all seemed so complicated and all I wanted to do was simplify.” She goes on to suggest that maybe she was part of her own undoing saying, “I had an amazing time. I love romantic comedies. I was so stoked to be doing them. But maybe I hit it a little too hard. I couldn’t say no…maybe I overloaded my audience. I should have done a superhero movie or a psychological thriller. I stopped challenging myself. It became a bit by rote and, as a creative person, that can wear you down…That was part of why I took that time off, to ask myself, ‘What do I want? What am I looking for?'”
