JADA PINKETT SMITH ADDRESSES OPEN MARRIAGE RUMORS AGAIN: Jada Pinkett Smith poses on the cover of Net-A-Porter’s The Edit where she discusses the long-standing tabloid rumor that she and Will Smith have an open marriage. The Gotham star explains, “Will, to me, encompasses everything. It’s almost as if calling him ‘my husband’ is too small of a word for what he means in my life…I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that’s what it’s evolved into. And I’m just ecstatic about it.” She goes on to reveal how they deal with the stories saying, “The coping technique is knowing what the truth is. When you know that what’s going on in your house is so the opposite of what’s being said, and you also know that when there’s mystery, people fill in the gaps, that’s okay. And then you look back at it and look at how creative people can be, and it’s kind of entertaining. We can laugh because it’s so ridiculous. But I get it. I don’t take it personally.”

Meridith Vieira Discusses Today Show Drama
Meredith Vieira admits that NBC did not handle the Today show drama from 2012 which resulted in Ann Curry’s firing and Matt Lauer being viewed as the bad guy. The former co-host recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter where she addressed the shakeup that went down following her exit from the morning news show.
Meredith said, “I really felt for Matt Lauer a lot. And I felt for Ann, too. It turned so nasty, really nasty. Every day you’re reading this stuff that is just beyond cruel from angry, angry people who felt that Ann had been slighted and embarrassed and humiliated. And they basically pointed to one person on whom to take out all of their anger. I don’t know if I would have survived that.” She continued, “I just told him I loved him and I was there for him. But I never sugarcoated what had happened. I thought it had not been handled smartly from the very beginning, because I don’t think they ever felt that was the right fit for Ann so they should never have put her in that position to begin with. And the ending was so mishandled. But you know what, s**t happens. People make mistakes. We all do.”
- Savannah Guthrie was hired at Ann’s replacement.
