Legos For The Girls
LEGO is debuting a new set called the Research Institute which features female figures in science jobs, including astronomer, chemist and paleontologist. LEGO created the set as part of its Ideas series, which are based on fans’ ideas which are voted up. However, it also comes not long after a letter went viral from a seven-year-old girl complaining about the female LEGO figures. She wrote, “All the girls did was sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and they had no jobs, but the boys went on adventures, worked, saved people, and had jobs, even swam with sharks.”
Real Life Ken
20 year-old model and actor Celso Santebanes spent $50,000 on plastic surgery to look like Barbie’s boyfriend Ken. He had his chin, jaw and nose all resculpted and also had silicone implants placed in his chest. Now, Celso is coming out with his own doll.
He tells the Mirror: “I’m not a fake, I’m Ken. I’m obsessed with beauty. I always wanted to be recognized, appearing in the media I think I’m 90 per cent of what I want to be. I intend to do more surgeries, but do not know what. For now my investment is being in the gym, for Ken is strong and I am skinny. As I work with my aesthetic, I must take care of my body. I am an educated person. I like reading and majoring in one of the leading drama schools in Brazil. But I try to be more perfect inside than out.”
