Robin Williams Passes Away

Oscar winning comedian and actor Robin Williams died on Monday (August 10th) from an apparent suicide. He was 63. According to TMZ, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office found his body inside of his home where he was unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead on at 12:02 p.m.vietnam

Robin’s publicist released a statement saying, “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

  • His wife, Susan Schneider, later broke her silence saying, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
  • An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (August 12th).
  • A press conference will also be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

SUSAN SARANDON IS A GRANDMA: Susan Sarandon’s daughter gave birth to her first child over the weekend. Eva Amurri and her husband, Kyle Martino, welcomed a baby girl whom they named Marlowe Mae. Baby Marlow weighed 6 lbs. and 11 ounces.

DRIVER INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT WITH DWAYNE JOHNSON’S FAMILY WILL BE CHARGED WITH DUI: The woman who was attempting to escape the cops when she drunkenly plowed into a vehicle containing The Rock’s mother and cousin has been charged with DUI. According to TMZ, the allegedly intoxicated driver ran two red lights before the crash. The crash took place in Clermont, Florida and the police are asking prosecutors for a warrant for her arrest/ She is currently in the hospital for injuries from the accident.

JAMES FRANCO GOES BLOND: James Franco has dyed his hair. The Palo Alto actor posted a new picture to his Instagram account on Monday (August 11th) showing off his bleached blond locks. He captioned the picture, “That Late 90s bleached look.”

BROOKLYN BECKHAM WAS CHLOE GRACE MORETZ’S DATE TO THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS: Chloe Grace Moretz walked the red carpet of Sunday’s (August 10th) Teen Choice Awards solo but sources say she brought Brooklyn Beckham as her date to the event. Photographers took pictures of the pair standing side by side inside the event. Chloe has discussed their friendship publicly but neither the actress or her rumored beau has confirmed that the relationship has turned romantic.



‘NASHVILLE’ TO INCORPORATE HAYDEN PANETTIERE’S PREGNANCY: The writers for ABC’s Nashville will be incorporating Hayden Panettiere’s real-life pregnancy into the show next season. The last season ended with her character cheating on her boyfriend with the head of her old record label. Production sources tell E! News that the baby’s paternity will factor into her story arc.

J.J. MURPHY DIES BEFORE ‘GAME OF THRONES’ DEBUT: Game of Thrones actor J.J. Murphy has passed away at the age of 86. He was expected to make his debut as Ser Denys of the Knights Watch in the upcoming season. According to The Belfast Telegraph, he had filmed his first scenes for the show a few days before his passing last Friday (August 8th.) The show’s executive producers released a statement saying, “We will not be recasting J.J. Murphy. He was a lovely man, and the best Denys Mallister we could have hoped for. And now his watch is ended.”

USA RENEWS ‘SUITS’: USA wants more Suits. The network has announced plans to bring the legal drama back for a fifth season. The new batch of 16 episodes will air next summer. Network president, Chris McCumber, said in a statement, “Suits continues to fire on all cylinders, delivering provocative storytelling and complex characters that viewers can’t get enough of. With some of the best writing on television, and a brilliant ensemble cast, we anticipate a spectacular fifth season for a series that has become a marquee property for USA.”

PUSSY RIOT IS HEADING TO ‘HOUSE OF CARDS’: Former Pussy Riot members, Nadezhda “Nadya” Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, will be part of the upcoming third season of House of Cards. The girls were spotted on the Baltimore set of the Netflix series last week and two people who work on the show have confirmed the news. The girls told the Wall Street Journal back in May, “It’s important for us to meet people who are doing political cinema in the U.S. because in Russia, it doesn’t exist, and we want to know how it happens.”

FIRST PROMO FOR ‘BETTER CALL SAUL’ RELEASED: The first promo for AMC’s Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, has been released. The show follows Bob Odenkirk’s lawyer character, Saul Goodman. The show will premiere in February 2015 for a 10-episode freshman season and has already been renewed for a second season for 13 episodes.
