*Josh Holloway from Lost will co-star with Winona Ryder in the upcoming feature comedy Stay Cool, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film is the latest project from the Polish brothers, best known for The Astronaut Farmer. Mark, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Michael, plays a successful author who return to his old high school to deliver a speech and encounters his former crush, played by Ryder, and her former jock boyfriend, played by Holloway. The cast also includes Hilary Duff, Jon Cryer, Sean Astin and Chevy Chase. Michael Polish will direct.

*With Lost not set to return to the air until next January, ABC is hoping to keep fans occupied with a Lost Book Club on ABC.com. Per TVGuide.com, the club will feature a selection of literary works referenced on the show, including Watership Down, Carrie and The Turn of the Screw. There will also be a message board featuring contributions from Lost honchos Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof.

*Talladega Nights stars Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen are reuniting for an upcoming comedy about Sherlock Holmes. Variety reports that Cohen will take on the title role while Ferrell will play his assistant, Dr. Watson. Knocked Up’s Judd Apatow is producing along with Jimmy Miller. Coincidently, Guy Ritchie is currently developing a drama based on the famed sleuth.

*Rosie Perez will appear on the sophomore season of Gossip Girl. Although it’s unclear what her role will be or how many episodes she’ll appear in, PerezHilton.com spotted the actress on the show’s New York City set on Tuesday (July 1st).

*Tony Hawk and his wife Lhotse welcomed their first child on Monday (June 30th). Kandence Clover is the skateboarding legend’s first daughter; he has three sons from previous relationships. Lhotse is Hawke’s third wife; they married in 2005 after a year of dating.

*Tatum O’Neal has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with her June arrest for cocaine possession in New York City, the Associated Press reports. The 44-year-old actress was ordered to spend two half-day sessions in a drug-treatment program and pay a $95 surcharge. If O’Neal has complied with those requirements when she returns to court on September 4th, the case will be dismissed. O’Neal, who’s admitted to drug problems in the past, is currently working on the upcoming season of the FX series Rescue Me.

*Oscar-nominee Tim Roth has been slated to appear in Lie to Me, an upcoming Fox television series about a human lie detector. The network has made a 13-episode commitment to the program, which is expected to debut early next year. This marks the first foray into television for Roth, who currently appears in The Incredible Hulk.

*Josh Hartnett will make his London stage debut later this summer in an adaptation of the 1988 best picture winner, Rain Man. Per Variety, Hartnett will play the Tom Cruise role of a cocky young man who goes on a cross-country trip with the autistic older brother he never knew he had. British actor Adam Godley will play the title role, which brought Dustin Hoffman an Oscar. Rain Man is due to open August 28 at the Apollo Theatre.

*Rose McGowan is set to star in a reamke of 1985’s comic-based action flick, Red Sonja. According to Variety, McGowan will play the vengeful woman warrior portrayed in the original by Brigitte Nielsen. McGowan’s fiance, Robert Rodriguez, who directed her in last year’s Grindhouse, will be one of the producers. Production begins in October.

*My Name is Earl star Jason Lee was spotted at the Norwalk, California courthouse on Monday (June 30th), where he was reportedly waiting in line for a marriage license. Lee and girlfriend Ceren Alkac are expecting their first child together this fall. He has a son, named Pilot Inspektor for a previous relationship. The actor’s rep did not respond to calls on the matter.

*The Wynn Hotel sued Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis for $2 million on Tuesday (July 1st), claiming he skipped out on a marker he was given in February 2007. Resort owner Steve Wynn alleges that he lent Joe $2.8 million, but has only received $800,000 back. A spokesperson for Francis’ production company told TMZ.com, “As far as Mr. Francis is concerned, all of his balances with the Wynn Hotel have been fully lived up to, per agreements.”

*Don Sinclair Davis, an Army veteran who created an acting career playing military roles, died Sunday (June 29th) of a heart attack at age 65, according to the Vancouver Sun. He was 65. A friend told the paper that Davis — who lived in Gibsons, British Columbia — had heart problems for years and suffered from diabetes. Davis was best known for his roles as Stargate SG-1’s General George Hammond and Twin Peaks’ Major Garland Briggs.

*Angelina Jolie checked into a hospital in the south of France on Tuesday (July 1st) to be kept under doctors’ supervision and get some rest before giving birth to her twins. A spokesperson for the Lenval Hospital in Nice confirmed Jolie’s arrival and said that her admittance had been prearranged. “There is not urgency,” Nadine Bauer said. “It’s been planned for a long time. She’s very well. Everything is fine. She is not on the verge of giving birth, not at all. It’s not for right away.”  According to E! Online, local doctor Michel Sussman was overseeing the delivery, despite rumors that Jolie’s stateside doctor, Jason Rothbart, would be flying in. Rothbart delivered Jolie and partner Brad Pitt’s first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, on May 27, 2006, at a hospital in Namibia

*Helena Bonham Carter is in talks to join the cast of Terminator Salvation. The fourth installment of the popular franchise has secured Christian Bale as John Connor and Bryce Dylan Howard as Kate Connor. *Kim Cattrall’s reluctance to sign on to the Sex and the City movie is reportedly what delayed its production, and the same problem could be brewing for the sequel. “No one has checked to see if Kim Cattrall is available or interested in a sequel,” a source told OK! magazine. After the opening weekend of the film took in over $50 million, talk of a follow-up reportedly began immediately. Despite the catty claim, Cattrall recently told the Early Show, “I have a sneaky suspicion if the fans turn out and the movie does well, that we will be back, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

*Passion of the Christ star Jim Caviezel will headline a remake of the 1960’s sci-fi series The Prisoner for AMC, which will run as a six-part miniseries. Ian McKellen will co-star in the project, which tells the story of an ex-British government agent who is kidnapped and taken to a mysterious village where his captors try to get information from him.

*A Battlestar Galactica TV Movie is in the works, according to the Los Angeles Times. Cast member Grace Park, who plays Cylon number eight on the Sci Fi channel series, confirmed that the long-rumored project has been given the go-ahead. She wasn’t able to provide any details, but did say production was supposed to begin in August.

*Lindsay Lohan’s dad has provided a DNA sample for a paternity test to dispute a woman’s claim that he fathered a daughter with her, E! News reports. Michael Lohan has acknowledged having sexual relations on two occasions with Kristi Kaufman, a Houston woman he met in the mid-’90s while separated from now-ex-wife Dina Lohan. He says at first he believed her claim that her daughter, Ashley, was his as well, until he realized the math and dates involved didn’t add up. According to his time line, 13-year-old Ashley was born 11 months after his last liaison with her mother. Forty-eight-year-old Michael says Kaufman, a 44-year-old massage therapist, had him “snowballed” into thinking he was Ashley’s father, and he even went so far as to communicate with the young girl via telephone.
