KATHERINE SCHWARZENEGGER PREDICTED HER RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIS PRATT; ANNA FARIS REACTS – (01/16/2019)
Please Note: This story uses quotes from Anna Faris’ “Unqualified” podcast.
Katherine Schwarzenegger seemed to have a good feeling about current fiancé Chris Pratt, well before they first met. (To be fair, many women probably shared that feeling, but still…)
In an unearthed interview with Access from August 2017, a full 10 months before the pair were first linked by enterprising paparazzi, the 29-year-old Rock What You’ve Got author expressed a preference for Pratt among the famous Chris trio (the other options, of course, being Evans or Hemsworth), after a little hemming and hawing.
“Chris Evans,” she said, but then changed her mind. “Actually, Chris Pratt,” she concluded. “Chris Pratt’s been looking good lately, so you never know.”
The pair were first photographed together in June of 2018 on a picnic in Santa Barbara. They got engaged over the weekend; he proposed with a stunning oval diamond that reportedly cost upwards of $400K.
“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!” Pratt, 39, captioned an Instagram picture of them Sunday, January 13. “I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
ANNA FARIS
So how did he tell his ex-wife Anna Faris that he was moving on when they just signed their divorce papers in 2017?
On Tuesday’s Anna Faris Is Unqualified, she broke it down.
“Chris texted me this morning and he was like, you know, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night,'” she recalled. “I was like ‘Ah! That’s amazing.’
She then reminded him that’s she’s available to officiate.
“And I texted him back, ‘Just want to remind you, I’m an ordained minister,'” she said, joking she’s “not very good at it.”
Faris seems pretty chill about it, TBH.
“I knew that it was going to happen,” she said at one point. “I love her, and I love him, and I’m just so happy that they found each other.”
The pair co-parent Jack, 6.
RIHANNA SUING HER FATHER FOR EXPLOITING ‘FENTY’ NAME – (01/16/2019)
Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, and his company called, Fenty Entertainment, for exploiting her name for monetary gain. According to The Blast, a lawsuit was filed on Tuesday (January 15th) in California federal court. Rih claims that her father started a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment to capitalize off of her Fenty trademark.
The singer, however, has already trademarked “Fenty” for use in her business ventures, including her Fenty Beauty line. She claims that her father and his business partner, Moses Jordan Perkins, falsely advertised themselves as her reps and booked a $15 million tour in Latin America, and two shows at the Staples Center in LA and the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas for $400,000 in December 2017, without her consent.
Rih says that she is not involved with Fenty Entertainment, and that “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.” She added that her father claimed to have gotten approval from her label, Roc Nation, before booking, but Rihanna argues that no one at the label knew about the tour.
Rihanna also said that her father unsuccessfully tried to file a trademark for “Fenty” to use in connection with resort boutique hotels.
The singer says that she sent numerous cease-and-desist letters to her father and his partner, but they have gone unanswered. Rih is seeking damages and has asked a judge to place an injunction on Fenty Entertainment.
In other news, is Rihanna dropping an accessories line? According to The Shade Room, Rih was spotted wearing a pair of “Fenty” sunglasses with the brand’s name written on the side. The site also reports that Fenty has trademarked “goods and services” including eyeglass frames, sunglasses, accessories for mobile phones, tablet computers and more. There were no additional details at the time of reporting.
PETITION WANTS TRAVIS SCOTT, BIG BOI AND MAROON 5 TO TAKE A KNEE DURING SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW – (01/16/2019)
It was previously reported that Travis Scott and Big Boi will be joining Maroon 5 on the Super Bowl halftime stage next month. According to Complex, a petition has since been launched urging Travis, Big Boi and Maroon 5 to take a knee during the performance.
On the Change.org petiton, a man named Vic Oyedeji said, “It appears these artists aren’t backing out at this point. So now what? There’s one way they can still redeem their reputation with their fans. Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi: take a knee during your set. Show the hundreds of millions of people watching that you stand in solidarity with Kaepernick and all players who protest police brutality.” Oyedeji added, “Use this opportunity to force the NFL to change their policy.”
Oyedeji also spoke of Maroon 5 to Billboard and said, “I have nothing against the band, this isn’t about them and they just got caught in the crossfire. I’m saying the only way for them to preserve their reputation is to take a knee during their set to show the hundreds of millions of people watching their solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the players who are protesting police brutality.”
It was also previously reported that Scott agreed to perform at the event if the NFL agreed to join him in a joint donation to a charitable cause. In partnership with the league, Scott will make a $500,000 contribution to Dream Corps, a non-profit organization that champions social justice.
