FILM DIRECTORS REACT TO OSCARS DURING COMMERCIALS: Earlier this week, AMPAS announced that they will be presenting four Oscars during commercial breaks to save time during the broadcast — Cinematography, Editing, Hair and Makeup, and Live Action Short Film. Directors took to Twitter to speak up. Guillermo del Toro, Academy Award-winning director of last year’s Best Picture winner The Shape of Water tweeted, “If I may: I would not presume to suggest what categories to cut during the Oscars show but – Cinematography and Editing are at the very heart of our craft. They are not inherited from a theatrical tradition or a literary tradition: they are cinema itself.” Jason Reitman, Academy Award-nominated director of Juno and Up in the Air tweeted, “Editing is filmmaking. Say it ain’t so, Oscars.”

Kim Kardashian West is reportedly being sued for $100 million for allegedly breaching her Kimoji app deal. According to TMZ, App developer David Liebensohn has claimed that he and his business partners created an app called CensorOut that caught Kim’s attention. They eventually agreed to team up to create Kimojis.
According to court docs, in 2014, Kim agreed to do business with Liebensohn and his partners and agreed on giving them 60%. Liebensohn has claimed that Kim insisted she would file the trademark paperwork for the app to cover the cost.
Then in August 2014, around the time that Kim filed for the trademark, Kim informed him that one of his partners shared some of her personal information so she backed out of the deal.
Liebensohn has claimed that Kim already know that one of his partners shared some of her info before they struck a deal and used it as an excuse to cancel it.
Liebensohn is suing Kim for $100 million for breach of contract, fraud and for the profits he believes he lost by being left out of the Kimoji deal.
