SIMON COWELL BREAKS HIS BACK – (08/10/2020)
America’s Got Talent maestro Simon Cowell broke his back and underwent surgery Saturday night, according to multiple reports. The 60-year-old was rushed to a hospital after an e-bike crash in the courtyard of his Malibu home.
“Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening,” a rep for Cowell confirmed on Saturday night.
“Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family,” the rep added.
Cowell has been quarantining with his partner Lauren Silverman and their son Eric, 6, as well as her son Adam, 14, from a previous relationship. Cowell was due to return to AGT this week with his co-hosts Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara, with the first live show since the onset of the pandemic airing Tuesday.
Cowell is frequently photographed on bikes and has credited it with a nearly 60-pound weight loss.
On Sunday, sources told Page Six that the star is in “recovery and asleep. He had to have a big surgery, he’s got a number of breaks and has had to have a metal rod put into his back. When he fell off the bike he landed right on his back which broke in a number of places,” noting it “was six-hour surgery overnight on Saturday.”

SIMON COWELL THANKS FANS: After breaking his back testing out an e-bike, Simon Cowell went through surgery, but is on the road to recovery. The America’s Got Talent judge spoke out, thanking fans for their support. He said on social: “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages. And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone Simon.” (The Blast)
2020 MTV VMAS WON’T BE INSIDE AFTER ALL: The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will not take place indoors at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as planned due to the pandemic. “In close consultation with state and local health officials, it became clear at this time that outdoor performances with limited or no audience would be more feasible and safer than an indoor event,” MTV said. “The VMAs will highlight the boroughs in an exciting show and return to Barclays Center in 2021. MTV will continue to work closely with the Department of Health, state and local officials, the medical community, and key stakeholders to ensure the safety of all involved.” Keke Palmer is hosting the August 30th event. Lined up to perform are BTS, Doja Cat and J Balvin. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga go into the competition with a leading nine nominations apiece. Billie Eilish and The Weeknd follow with six nominations each.
KANYE WEST REVEALS 2020 POTUS PLANS – (08/10/2020)
Kanye West has laid out his position on various issues. According to TMZ, West has revealed that his presidential platform is titled Creating a Culture of Life — and it looks as if he is planning to appeal to both Democrats and Republicans. He plans to focus on freedom of religion, education, prison reform and more.
Kanye’s first goal as president is to “restore faith and revive our Constitutional commitment to freedom of religion and the free exercise of one’s faith, demonstrated by restoring prayer in the classroom including spiritual foundations.” He also wants to better support faith-based groups.
Next, he plans to reduce both household and student loan debt. He also plans to focus on reforming the United States education system so that it “serves the most at-risk and vulnerable populations, allowing the widest possible range of educational and vocational paths to job opportunities and career success.”
He added that as president, he also wants to “maintain a strong national defense,” but is not interested in starting decades-long wars.
On prison reform, he said that he wants to promote policies that “treat all Americans the same, regardless of race, color, or ethnicity.” And, he promises to protect the environment by promoting clean air and water as well as renewables.
The documents end with a request to donate to the Ye 2020 campaign.
REPORT: KANYE WEST COULD FACE ELECTION FRAUD INVESTIGATION
In other news, reports say that Kanye could face election fraud investigation. According to NJ.com, Kanye’s home state of Illinois removed his name from the ballot due to invalid signatures on his petition. In addition, he also withdrew his campaign in New Jersey after hundreds of signatures drew scrutiny from an election’s lawyer.
White House correspondent and CNN political analyst April Ryan said that this could cause some legal issues for the music and fashion icon. She tweeted this past weekend, “Two states declaring #KanyeWest ineligible to be on #POTUS ballot due to faulty signatures could open him up to an #ElectionFraud investigation. I would imagine other states where reported GOP operatives assisted him to get on the ballot will soon be reviewing. #Election2020.”
NICK CANNON SAY HE PLANS TO VOTE FOR KANYE
Meanwhile, Nick Cannon told TMZ’s cameramen that he plans to vote for Kanye. When asked about it, he said, “we need another black man in the White House.” When the photographer pointed out that there is no way that Kanye can win the election at this point, he said, “stranger things have happened in 2020.”
