FOLKLORE BECOMES THE FIRST ALBUM OF 2020 TO SELL A MILLION COPIES – (10/26/2020)
Taylor Swift’s folklore is having a great month. The album returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for an eighth nonconsecutive week (on the chart dated October 31st) and it became the first album of 2020 to sell a million copies in the U.S.
Folklore, released on July 24th, is Swift’s ninth album to sell at least 1 million copies in in the US.
‘HONEST THIEF’ TOPS QUIET BOX OFFICE – (10/26/2020)
Honest Thief stole the box office with $2.4 million in receipts at 2,502 locations. The Open Road release declined 44% from its opener; so far the Liam Neeson film has brought in $7.5 million in North America.
In second place, is 101 Studios’ The War With Grandpa, starring Robert De Niro, brought in $1.9 million for a 17-day haul of $9.7 million.

CHINA TO TAKE BOX OFFICE LEAD: Movie theaters in the U.S. are stagnating, but China’s theaters are bustling, and the Middle Kingdom is set to take over North America as the biggest film exhibition market in the world this year. Sone wonder how this will affect the content of movies. “Long-term, North America will come back to box office prominence,” says Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, “but if China’s recovery shows that people of all cultures love movies on the big screen enough to support that experience — even in a pandemic — then, in the long run, that could be a currency more valuable than dollars and cents.”
OPRAH WINFREY TOLD KANYE WEST NOT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT – (10/26/2020)
During an interview with Joe Rogan, Kanye West revealed that Oprah Winfrey told him not to run for president after he announced that he would run during the 2015 MTV VMAs. He explained, “I remember running into Oprah two days or one day after that, and she’s like you don’t want to be president. One of the things Oprah said is she said, ‘you got to bone up on your foreign affairs.’ I remember this, because it’s Oprah talking, so I’m gonna remember a lot of what the conversation was, but that’s the first thing she said was foreign affairs and foreign policies.”
Kanye also revealed that he was medicated after his infamous 2018 appearance on TMZ. He explained, “They told me I was bipolar. I remember going on TMZ and saying, ‘Slavery is a choice,’ and they medicated me for saying that. For having that opinion and saying it out loud. As I put those contracts up, I’m saying, ‘This is a choice.’”
He also revealed that he registered for his presidential bid so late because of COVID-19. He explained, “Why did I register so late to run for president? COVID. I had the virus and I was sitting in quarantine in my house and my cousin texts me about being prepared to run for president. And I just completely put it off to the side ‘cause I was like shivering and having the shakes and taking hot showers and eating soup. … [Coronavirus] threw everyone off. It threw everybody’s plans off. And then it was just this calling on my heart.”
HILARY DUFF IS EXPECTING A THIRD: Hilary Duff and her husband Matthew Koma are set to welcome their second child together. Duff shares Luca, 8, with Mike Comrie. “We are growing!!! Mostly me,” the Younger star, 33, wrote on Instagram, along a shot of her and Koma embracing. Duff and Koma welcomed Banks Violet in 2018.
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER RECOVERING FROM SECOND CARDIAC OPERATION IN 2 YEARS – (10/26/2020)
Arnold Schwarzenegger is recovering from the second heart procedure he has had in two years. The actor and former California governor shared a shot of himself in a hospital bed on Twitter Friday writing, “Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery.”
He continued, “I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues. Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!”
His daughter Katherine, 30, and Patrick, 27 sent him love. Patrick wrote “PLEASE DONT GO WORKOUT TODAY!!”
He also shares Christina, 29, and son Christopher, 23, with his ex-wife Maria Shriver and son, Joseph Baena, 23, with his ex Mildred Baena.
Two years ago, he underwent surgery to replace a pulmonic valve replacement that was put in 1997.

ARIANA GRANDE REVEALS TRACKLIST FOR ‘POSITIONS’ – (10/26/2020)
Ariana Grande revealed more about Positions on Twitter Saturday (October 24th) night.
The fourteen-track album includes songs like “Motive” featuring Doja Cat, “Off The Table” featuring The Weekend and “Safety Net” with Ty Dolla $ign.
Her seventh studio album will be available on Friday, October 30th.
