Box Office Recap – 02/08/2021
Super Bowl weekend is always a tough one for the box office. This time around, Warner Bros’ The Little Things, starring Denzel Washington, Jared Leto and Rami Malek, topped the box office with $2.1 million receipts, down 55% from its first weekend out.
Croods: A New Age came in second place, with $1.76, and The Marksman rounded out the top three with $1M.
Observers note that despite the controversy over Warner Bros’ decision to release the films in theaters and HBO Max simultaneously, the films are making bank, especially compared to Netflix’s films which are also released on the streamer and in theaters simultaneously.
