Feel Good Story of the Week – Shelter Puppy No-one Wanted Saves Life of Elderly Man

EUGENE, OR – A stray puppy who languished unwanted in a shelter saved the life of an elderly man who finally gave it a chance. The 18-month-old dog, named Jack, woke up 66-year-old owner Tom Braun after noticing he’d begun choking in his sleep at his Eugene, Oregon, home earlier this month. Braun was stunned to wake up and find his T-shirt covered with his own blood, and realized a blood vessel had burst following previous dental work. Braun spent the next 48 hours in hospital, while next door neighbor Eli Holmes cared for Jack. Braun has sung Jack’s praises, and advised anyone who is older and lives alone to get their own dog to help keep them safe.

Box Office Recap – 03/08/2021

Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, starring Kelly Marie Tran, led the weekend with $8.6 million, a less than robust opening that has execs worried. Raya’s start was 41% below last weekend’s Tom & Jerry opener, with $14.1 million. 

Tom & Jerry was also available free to HBO Max subscribers, while Disney was charging $30 for Disney+ subscribers. Many say that Cinemark’s refusal to play Raya amid Disney’s refusal to budge on terms and availability helped contribute to the tepid opener.

NEW MUSIC – Nick Jonas – This Is Heaven

Nick Jonas has released a new track, “This Is Heaven,” from his upcoming album Spaceman.

Jonas first debuted the song to fans last week (February 27th) with a performance on Saturday Night Live where he pulled double duty as host and musical guest. 

“This Is Heaven” is from Spaceman, which is set for release on March 12th.

NEW MUSIC – Justin Bieber – Hold On

The music video for Justin Bieber’s latest single, “Hold On” dropped at midnight. 

The visual features Bieber as a man who resorts to bank robbery in order to pay for his partner’s cancer treatment. He ultimately gets shot after leading cops in a high speed chase on his motorcycle.  

Christine Ko co-stars in the video, directed by Colin Tilley.

“Hold On” will be featured on Bieber’s upcoming sixth album, Justice, alongside previously released singles “Holy” featuring Chance the Rapper, “Lonely” with Benny Blanco, and “Anyone.”

Mountain Meister Recap – Week 7 – 03/04/2021

The 2021 Season of Mountain Meisters is underway at Cranmore and Kevin Hamlin joined Gino on The Magic Morning Show to tell us all about Week 7 and the Downhill!

Kevin told us that this week’s participation was just under 300 racers and they will return to the “Pay-to-Play” option next week and will be raising money for Believe In Books Literacy Foundation.

Feel Good Story of the Week: Principal Touches Up Student’s Hair After Boy Refuses To Take Off Hat

We’ve all had at least one bad haircut in our lives, and chances are we remember how that haircut made us feel. Jason Smith, the principal at Stonybrook Intermediate and Middle School in Indianapolis, understood that feeling, and that’s why it was a no-brainer to jump into action for one of his students. Anthony Moore was wearing a hat in school, which is against the dress code. After the student spoke with a school dean for about 30 minutes, Smith was asked to step in. He found out Moore had recently gotten a haircut and didn’t like the results. So Smith drove home to get his clippers and brought them to his office while Moore’s parents were called for consent to touch up his hair. After Smith’s touch up, Moore went through the day without his hat.

3 Car Crash in North Conway Results in Arrest

North Conway, NH – On Friday, February 26, 2021, at 11:38 am officers were dispatched to the area of the Route 16/ Barnes Road intersection for a 3 vehicle crash.  It was reported that two individuals involved in the accident had experienced non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision.  Witnesses further advised that the vehicle believed to be responsible for the crash, a blue Subaru station wagon, had taken off traveling southbound on Route 16 and was observed pulling into the parking lot on the back side of Polo.  The male operator exited the Subaru and ran off on foot in the direction of Settlers Green. 

Several officers arrived in the area to care for those involved in the accident and to look for the male operator of the Subaru.  Approximately 10 minutes later, the male was located in the parking lot of Barley and Salt.  The male operator was identified to be     

Mitchell Harmon

31 years old

Conway, NH

Mitchell Harmon was taken into custody for Conduct After an Accident with Death or Bodily Injury as defined by NH RSA 264:25 (Felony B).  Mitchell Harmon was also driving with a suspended license and the 2003 Subaru was found to be unregistered and uninspected.  He was charged with Driving After Revocation or Suspension and cited for operating an unregistered and uninspected vehicle. 

Mitchell Harmon has an extensive motor vehicle history.  He was bailed on personal recognizance with a court date to be determined.
