Rihanna celebrated the 15-year anniversary of her debut single, “Pon De Replay” on Monday (May 25th).

Yesterday, while reflecting on her first single, Rihanna touched on when she auditioned for JAY-Z at Def Jam Records.

She wrote on her Instagram Story, “#15YearsOfRihanna. Thank you for all the love on this hashtag today. Man this is trippy. Feels like just yesterday I was shaking in the hallways of Def Jam waiting to audition for Jay.”

Rih continued, “Pon De Replay is where it all began…. 15 years later and I’m here because God led me to you, and you guys have held me up, supported me, tolerated me, loved me, kept it too real with me, and we gon always be connected because of that! I love you Navy, and I cherish you. I’m so grateful to be gifted you as my fans and family. G4L!”

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s Song “Rain on Me” dropped early this morning. Gaga has called “Rain on Me” a “celebration of all the tears,” and claims in a new Apple Music interview that rain doubles as a metaphor for all the alcohol she’s consumed to numb her pain. “I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m alive,” she sings throughout the song.

Lady Gaga and Grande spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about their collaboration, in an episode set to air today. “Her and I connected right away and she was so wonderful,” Gaga said, and Ariana added, “It feels so fun to be part of something so upbeat and straight pop again. It felt so good, and fun, and happy to dip a toe into her world a little bit… she made me feel so comfortable.”

“Rain on Me” follows the release of LP single, “Stupid Love,” which Gaga unveiled in February. In addition to Grande, the 16-song Chromatica features contributions from Elton John and Blackpink.

Memorial Day weekend is the traditional kick off to the Mount Washington Valley’s next tourist season but with stay at home orders Governor Sununu’s emergency order restricting hotels and lodging providers to only offer housing to essential workers and vulnerable populations, it won’t be a blockbuster.

So where are we at now as a state and as a tourist destination?   Janice Crawford, Executive Director for the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce tells us: “We’re trying very hard to make sure we have a safe destination, we want to make sure people can trust us when they make reservations that we’ve been following all the guidelines required by the state and federal level and so I just want to share with our lodging properties and our Airbnb owners that we are very much opposed to allowing anyone to come into the state to stay.  Even from the state of New Hampshire because at this point in time, the state has not opened up lodging.”  There are currently no guidance documents from the state of New Hampshire to follow at this time to ensure the safety of lodging staff or guests.

The NH.gov website states that for safety purposes people should remain in their home state until additional restrictions are lifted.  It also states that individuals who travel to and stay in New Hampshire for an extended period of time to self-quarantine for a 2 week period.

Governor Sununu spoke with WMUR and explains; Hotels, especially in New Hampshire, because of tourism,  are designed on the idea that we are going to attract people from Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut .  Normally we would like to have those folks right here, but to open right now and attract that tourism business in we need to see the other state’s numbers go down.  Here we are looking at different guidance and how it might be done here and put a lot of guidelines and restrictions but, we are definitely not there yet and unfortunately, I cannot say when it’s going to be but probably not in the near future.”

Keep up to date with the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce website.

Samantha “Just Sam” Diaz was crowned American Idol’s winner Sunday night, but on Monday, everyone was talking about host Ryan Seacrest.

Fans took to social media, concerned that Seacrest had a neurological episode. He also absented himself from Live With Kelly and Ryan Monday morning, prompting more concern. So much so, his rep spoke to People.

The rep said: “Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night. Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home.”

The rep added: “Between Live with Kelly and RyanAmerican IdolOn Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off.”
