US Representative from New Hampshire Chris Pappas is in Conway today. The Representative is holding a Coffee with Chris event at 11:00 this morning at the Gibson Senior Center in N. Conway. At 11:40 he’ll be at a “Reading with your Rep” event at the N. Conway Library during which, staffers say he’ll be donating books from the Library of Congress Surplus Book Program. At 1:20 Representative Pappas will be swinging by Albany to meet with the Armed Forces Conservation Corps; and finally at 3:00, Pappas will be meeting supporters at the Hemlock Lane Trailhead for a Ride-a-Long event along the rail trail.

US Senator from New Hampshire Maggie Hassan is meeting with local business owners in Conway, Bethlehem, and Littleton before a town hall this Thursday. Hassan’s staffers say the town hall will involve taking questions from constituents and providing an update on her efforts on key priorities including lowering health care costs and expanding middle class opportunity, supporting innovative businesses, and keeping communities safe. The town hall will be at the Littleton Opera House this Thursday with doors opening at 5pm and the event starting at 5:30.

New Hampshire State Police’s Marine Patrol recently arrived at the scene of a boat that was completely out of the water. Authorities were notified of the accident this past Saturday shortly after 7 in the morning. The 1976 23′ Chris Craft powerboat was stuck on a rock breakwater near Lockes Island on Lake Winnipesaukee in the town of Gilford. Authorities say 58-year-old Robert Koning of Massachusetts was attempting to return to a residence on the island when he struck a moored boat and continued up onto the breakwater. There are no reported injuries and the incident remains under investigation at this time.

Saturday, September 21st is the annual Walk For The Animals with all of the proceeds going to the Conway Area Humane Society. CAHS Executive Director Tim Westwig and Events Coordinator Kristen Snowdon joined Gino on the Magic Morning Show today and told us all about the event and how and why we should register. Registration fee is $50 for Adults and $25 for Youths, but if you raise your cost of registration on your fundraising page that is waived. You get your registration information and a free tee-shirt!
It is going to be a fun day filled with events and activities for the whole family.

It will take place at Whittaker Woods located in North Conway, NH. Registration begins is 9:00am to 9:45am and the walk begins at 10:00am.

The Conway Area Humane Society is committed to helping all the animals that come into their care. Providing needed medical treatment, giving lots of love and care while they are with them, and working hard to find them new and wonderful homes!

Please help them by making a walk team of your own and raising money to help these animals.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in Ossipee for what his campaign called a house party this past weekend. An eye-witness account said hundreds turned out for the event and pictures show people in a long line down the street. The Presidential hopeful discussed healthcare, the rise in violence due to racism, gun control, climate change, and dealing with North Korea in foreign affairs. Buttigieg was one of many candidates in the area this past weekend. Cory Booker stopped by Conway Public Library; John Delaney was in Littleton; and numerous democratic nominees turned out for the Belknap Democratic Party Picnic. Marianne Williamson is still campaigning in New Hampshire today.

 

‘ANGEL HAS FALLEN’ TOPS BOX OFFICE WITH $21.3M – (08/26/2019)

Angel Has Fallen topped the box office with $21.3 million, according to studio estimates as the action sequel became the latest mid-budget release to succeed during the dog days of summer. 

The Lionsgate film, which stars Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman and was produced for about $40 million, beat expectations going into the weekend, opening similar to 2016’s previous installment, London Has Fallen

Universal’s Good Boys came in second place with $11.8 million in its second week out. Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark made $6 million. Meanwhile, the Dwayne Johnson top-lined Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw opened in China with $102 million, pushing the worldwide haul to $588.9 million. This week, it drew $8.1 million domestically.
