NH Eat Local Month

It’s New Hampshire Eat Local Month according to the Upper Saco Valley Land Trust and they’re trying to help residents of the Mt. Washington Valley directly support local farmers. The land trust put out a press release earlier this week noting various times of farmers markets. Upper Saco Valley Land Trust say this also happens to be National Farmer’s Market Week and that additional festivities are being hosted by the NH Food Alliance with whom NH Eat Local Month partners. Pequawket Grant Helps N. Conway Library

The Pequawket Foundation just pledged $5,000 to the North Conway Public Library’s capital campaign to renovate and expand their historic building in North Conway village. Built in 1911, the building was previously enlarged in 1917 and 1988. The library said in a press release they plan on expanding the size once again as well as the function and technology of the library. Board President for the library Neill Osgood says the library is going to have a new community room while also enlarging the children’s areas, adding an office for the library director and wants to make the library ADA compliant. He says the donation from the Pequawket Foundation helps with the renovation and the expansion but that more money is needed to install state-of-the-art infrastructure such as computers, lighting, furniture, and educational materials.

The Conway Scenic Railroad Celebrated 45 Years with a Special Dedication

Sunday, August 4th was the exact 45th Anniversary of Conway Scenic Railroad’s very first revenue run back in 1974 with Steam Engine #7470 in the lead. Yesterday, Conway Scenic Founder Dwight Smith was the guest of honor on the 1:30pm departure to Conway. Dwight was honored by having Steam Engine 7470 named after him. Celebrate Shark Week with Emperors Of The Deep by William McKeever – 08/01/2019

JJ & Emma Baker were the Magic 104 Littlest BIG Radio Stars for July 2019

Today, Gino and The Magic Morning Show had 2 VERY Special Guests…Magic 104’s Littlest Big Radio Stars for July of 2019… JJ and Emma Baker!

JJ is 11 years old and Emma is 8 years old and they’re from Tamworth.

In addition to being the radio stars for the day, they were able to pick the whole playlist for the hour, have an interview with Gino, play a game, and just have some good times. Art In The Park – Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th

Louise Perry of the Mount Washington Valley Arts Association stopped by the Magic Morning Show today to tell us all about this year’s Art In The Park Celebration, happening Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th. Listen to Louise and Gino discuss the event below!

Where: Schouler Park, North Conway Village

Fine Artists and Artisans will be showcasing original oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, illustrations, photography, stained glass, hand crafted furniture, jewelry, pottery, blown glass ornaments, wood & stone sculptures, vintage maps, fused glass items, and textiles. 

There will be a music tent both days featuring popular local musicians and a nice variety of food vendors.
