Today on The Magic Morning Show, Gino had a VERY VERY Special Guest join him on the air…he’s a man of many names; Kris Kringle and Old St. Nick just to name a couple…Santa Claus was in studio! Santa took some time out of his very busy day today and had a special message for the children of The Mount Washington Valley and North Country. He answered questions that were emailed in from our young listeners and even had his own list of shout outs to do on the air. It was a magical moment!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker snagged lukewarm reviews (57% on Rotten Tomatoes), but managed to crush the box office with $179 million. J.J. Abrams’ $90 million first night out represented the sixth-highest opening of all time.

The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi both snagged more favorable reviews, and snagged $248 million and $220 million in their opening weekends, respectively. ‘JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL’ RAKES IN $52 MILLION – (12/16/2019)

Jumanji: The Next Level scored $52.4 million in box office receipts for the opening weekend. Worldwide, it reached $196 million.

“There is a lot to like with Next Level, starting with the returning cast. The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are all adored by family-friendly moviegoing audiences. And, for the most part, fans are liking the change of pace with the ‘something’s wrong with the game’ storyline. Even Ozzy Osbourne’s song featured in the trailer is getting some call-outs. All in all, the discussion leans heavily positive for a sequel that had such an entertaining predecessor – not to mention all the super-social cast returning and some new faces like Awkwafina added, too,” says social media monitor RelishMix.

Frozen 2 landed in the second slot with $19.2 million, and Knives Out grabbed $9.1 million, scoring third place.

Meanwhile, the Clint Eastwood-helmed Richard Jewell and the horror film Black Christmas snagged $4.9 million and $4.5 million respectively, below the expected $10 million apiece, for the fourth and fifth slot.

Local Author Mark Roberts stopped by The Magic Morning Show today to talk with Gino about his children’s book; Doug The Waterbug’s First Christmas. Mark grew up in Milan, NH and wanted to help out the local food pantries that work over with the Berlin, NH Salvation Army. Mark will be giving 100% of the proceeds earned from his book to the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army has been part of Berlin for 133 years. They serve individuals and families from Berlin and the surrounding communities. The soup kitchen is now up and running after a 3 year hiatus. During that hiatus, they were able to replace and upgrade their appliances. Since reopening, they have already served over 215 meals and are looking to serve many more. They also have summer programs as well as Christmas Assistance and an Angel Tree program. Last year they served over 100 children, gave out 93 food baskets, and over $10,000 worth of toys, so every dollar counts.
