BRAD PAISLEY REPLACES TAYLOR SWIFT ON FAMOUS NASHVILLE MURAL – (12/29/2020)

Brad Paisley has replaced Taylor Swift on a mural of country music legends in downtown Nashville. Taylor, who was formerly depicted sitting perched on a barstool between Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash has been painted over. Now, it’s Brad sitting on the same stool.

USA Today noted, the decision to replace her came about (at least in part) because of the disapproval of the country fans who hang out in downtown Nashville.

Tim Davis, the artist of the mural who painted it said, “I have heard many complaints here in Nashville about Taylor being on the wall with country legends since she is currently focused mainly on pop.” He went on to say, “By and large, the people of Nashville love her, as do I.”

Davis adds that it was the bar owner’s decision, not his. He is currently raising money via a Go Fund Me page to paint a mural dedicated exclusively to Taylor Swift.

Country music legends on the mural include Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, and several others.

The mural is located on the outside wall of a Nashville bar.

CARDI B SETTLES $30 MILLION LEGAL BATTLE WITH FORMER MANAGER – (12/29/2020)

Cardi B has finally put an end to a two-year, $30 million legal battle with her former manager Klenord ‘Shaft’ Raphael. It was dismissed with prejudice. Meaning that it cannot be brought back to court at any point in the future.

Shaft, who claimed he discovered her and secured her a spot on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop, filed a $10 million breach of contract lawsuit against her in April of 2018. Among other things, he claimed that she abandoned their agreement in order to sign with another management company.

According to her countersuit, Shaft ‘got a 20% commission,’ but tried to seek even more commission off of Cardi’s Sony Music publishing deal. Cardi says he demanded 50% of that deal. In addition, the suit states that he attempted to control aspects of her personal life, such as her romantic relationship with her current husband.

In the settlement, they both agreed to pay all of their own legal fees. When it was over, Cardi B posted on Twitter “Feels good to be free.” 

NICKI MINAJ STIRS UP TROUBLE WITH RED LOBSTER RESTAURANT – (12/29/2020)

After Nicki Minaj went online to complain about her food order from Red Lobster restaurant, chaos followed. It started after the restaurant forgot to include tartar sauce in her to-go order.

Instead of calling the restaurant, she posted: “I don’t know who needs to hear this but Dear Red Lobster, when I order fried shrimp, I PROMISE U, I want TARTER (sp) SAUCE. Not cocktail sauce.  Sincerely, mother of a newborn w/no nanny.” She added to the tweet: “Also, Wendy’s: Please stop forgetting my ranch sauce with my chicken nuggets.”

Once her fans got involved, the posts started flying back and forth in her defense! Almost immediately, the company’s official social media account posted to her: “We have you covered! We have lots of awesome sauces — cocktail, tartar, remoulade, pina colada… just let us know next time 😃.”

TOM CRUISE BUILDS COVID-PROOF SET – (12/29/2020)

Tom Cruise, 58, is making it his Mission to keep COVID off his set. The star and producer of Mission Impossible 7 made headlines for blowing up at crew members who he felt were flouting COVID-19 safety protocols. Now, he is shelling out millions to move the production to a former military base in Surry, per The Sun.

Five staffers quit over Cruise’s meltdown, in which threatened to fire crew members for not following strict social distancing rules. The film production was stopped earlier this year over a positive test, and Cruise is reportedly deeply invested in a successful finish. 

Meanwhile, Cruise is also reportedly dating his British co-star Hayley Atwell, 38. 

“Tom and Hayley hit it off from day one,” a production source told The Sun.

“Lockdown, and all the difficulties that came with it, brought them closer together,” the source added. “They’ve been meeting after hours and she’s been to his London pad. “They get on brilliantly. Both seem very happy.”

DEMI LOVATO OPENS UP ABOUT EATING DISORDER AND SHARES STRETCH MARK PHOTOS – (12/28/2020)

Demi Lovato revealed details behind her struggle with her eating disorder and how she’s been handling recovery.

On Christmas Eve (December 24), she shared a series of photos of her in a bathing suit. In the caption, she admitted that she used to genuinely believe that recovery from an eating disorder was not possible and thought that everyone was faking or secretly relapsing behind closed doors.” She shared photos of her stretch marks and wrote: “I’m so grateful that I can honestly say for the first time in my life – my dietitian looked at me and said “This is what eating disorder recovery looks like.”

She said that she wanted to celebrate her stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them and addressed those who are struggling with eating disorders. She posted this: “Let this be a reminder to anyone who doesn’t think it’s possible: IT ACTUALLY IS. YOU CAN DO IT. I BELIEVE IN YOU.”

BEYONCE TO DONATE $500,000 TO PEOPLE IMPACTED BY EVICTION CRISIS – (12/28/2020)

Beyoncé is stepping up to donate $500,000 in increments of $5,000 grants to help people facing foreclosures or evictions due to the housing crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to her website, people can start applying for the grants beginning on January 7. 100 people will be selected to receive the money.

This is not Beyoncé’s first effort to help communities hurt by the pandemic. Her foundation, BeyGOOD teamed with the NAACP earlier this year to support Black-owned small businesses impacted by the pandemic. So far providing 250 businesses with $10,000 grants.

In May, she set up mobile covid-19 testing sites with her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, in their hometown of Houston, Texas. She also donated, in partnership with Jack Dorsey’s Start Small fund, $6 million to coronavirus relief in April.

SHIA LABEOUF ‘NEEDS HELP,’ LAWYER SAYS – (12/28/2020)

Shia LaBeouf’s lawyer admits that the star “needs help” amid a career meltdown following a sexual misconduct suit filed by his ex FKA twigs. The 32-year-old musician accuses him, among other things, of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress and knowingly giving her a sexually transmitted disease. In the suit, another ex, Karolyn Pho, accuses him of similar behavior. The singer Sia supported twigs’ allegations, saying that he “conned” her into an “adulterous relationship” with him. 

“Shia needs help and he knows that,” LaBeouf’s celebrity attorney, Shawn Holley, who previously repped OJ Simpson, told E! News in a statement on Christmas Day. “We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needs.”

Twigs’ lawyer Bryan Freedman told Variety that the suit was filed only because he was allegedly  “unwilling to agree to get appropriate help” when she tried to settle the matter privately. 

LaBeouf has a troubled history regarding problematic behavior; in 2014, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to six months of outpatient rehab. In 2017, he was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and was sentenced to probation and told to undergo therapy. 

Meanwhile, the actor has recently been removed from projects, including Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, reportedly due to his problematic behavior. Netflix has removed LaBeouf’s name as a best supporting actor contender from its online For Your Consideration ads for his role in Pieces of a Woman.

Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hulk vibes may not be what Kim Kardashian West was going for, but that’s what folks were feeling when she debuted her Christmas lewk. While her crew scaled back their iconic annual Christmas party this year, the Kardashian-Jenners did all connect at Kourtney’s house, and posted multiple shots of the festivities on social. 

She revealed on Twitter that her dress was made by design house Schiaparelli, and may have been masterminded by the creative director Daniel Roseberry himself, whom Kim tagged in her post. “A special thanks to @danielroseberry @schiaparelli for my amazing gown that made me feel festive this year even though our Christmas Eve party was canceled,” she tweeted.

The response was intense. “Is it just me or did Kim Kardashian dress up like a teenage mutant ninja turtle for Christmas???????” tweeted author Dana Schwartz.

Others saw the look as less “turtle” and more “Hulk,” including one user who commented under Kardashian’s post, “But why is she dressed as the hulk and wearing eggplant earrings….” 

Another user asked: “why is no one talking about the fact kim kardashian skinned the hulk alive and wore his abs to christmas dinner”?

Taylor Swift is a big fan of Katy Perry’s video for “Not The End Of The World”. 

Swift commented on Perry’s Twitter announcement with, “THIS IS GENIUS” and included a GIF of an excited Zooey Deschanel. 
The video featured a group of aliens kidnapping Deschanel after confusing her for Perry. 

Swift’s support for the “Firework” singer may be surprising to some, considering they had a well-documented feud that kicked off in 2014.  However, the two seemed to mend fences in 2018. Perry even made a cameo appearance in Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” video. 

DIDDY GIVES HIS MOM $1 MILLION & A BENTLEY FOR HER 80TH BIRTHDAY – (12/23/2020)

Diddy went all out for his mom Janice Combs‘ 80th birthday. The music icon gave his mom a check for $1 million and a new Bentley.

Jennifer Lopez told Andy Cohen that it “wasn’t weird” dressing up as her fiancé Alex Rodriguez’s ex for Halloween this year.

JLo recreated Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” look for a small gathering at home this year. Cohen asked her if it was an “odd” choice given the rumors that Rodriguez and Madonna dated in 2008.

Smith recently gushed about the “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” singer, telling Pitchfork her performance of the song is “out of this world”.

Taylor Swift closes out the year by making history once more. evermore, her latest album, bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and her single “willow” captures #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, cementing her as the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 twice.

She accomplishes this feat only four months after the concurrent arrival of folklore and “cardigan” at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively—which initially made her “the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.”

ARIANA GRANDE SCORES SEVENTH NO. 1 – (12/22/2020)

Ariana Grande’s “Position” tops the Billboard Pop Songs radio airplay chart dated December 26th.  It follows “7 Rings” to become the singer’s seventh No.1 on the Pop Songs chart. 

It’s been a big week for Grande.  She announced her engagement to real estate agent Dalton Gomez on Sunday (December 20th) and dropped her concert film, “excuse me, i love you” on Monday (December 21st).  

KATY PERRY USED TO POSE AS ZOOEY DESCHANEL TO GET INTO CLUBS – (12/22/2020)

The aliens in Katy Perry’s latest videos aren’t the only ones who can’t tell the difference between the “Firework” singer and Zooey Deschanel. 

According to a conversation the pair had on Instagram Live Monday (December 21st) plenty of Hollywood bouncers thought that Perry was the former New Girl star. 

Perry admitted, “When I first went to LA, I went to the club a lot. And I wanted to get into the club and I had no money. I had no clout. I had nothing. And sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club.”

The pop star looked embarrassed when Deschanel told her she already knew.  She said she took it as a compliment when she finally met Perry and realized how pretty she is.

Kim Kardashian West is giving $500 to 1,000 people, she announced on Twitter Monday. 

The 40-year-old tweeted: “Hey guys! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. I know 2020 has been really hard and people are struggling, worried about how they’re going to pay rent, put food on the table, or a gift under the tree for their kids.”

She continued, “I want to spread the love by sending $500 to 1000 people.”

The 27-year-old singer showed off her new diamond and pearl engagement ring in photos shared on Instagram Sunday (December 20th). The caption read, “forever n then some.”

The congratulations poured in on social media with her manager Scooter Braun writing, “”Congrats to these two amazing souls. Ari we love you and could not be happier for you. Dalton you are a lucky man.”

People reports that the pair have been together since January and were social distancing together at her home in Los Angeles amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As more theaters get shut down due to the pandemic, Monster Hunter, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, came out on top with $2.2 million this weekend. Deadline reports that only about 2,300 theaters are open in the U.S. and Canada. 

Now, the industry awaits the release of Wonder Woman 1984 over Christmas; it will simultaneously be released on HBO Max.

EVERMORE HAS BECOME TAYLOR SWIFTS EIGHTH NO. 1 – (12/21/2020)

Evermore has become Taylor Swift’s eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and her second of 2020.

Billboard reports that the only women with more leaders are Barbara Streisand with 11 and Madonna with nine.

Swift is also the first woman to net a pair of No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart in 2020 with both folklore and evermore. Pop group BTS and rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again have also managed to nab two No. 1 spots each.

MILEY CYRUS IS THE NFL NETWORK’S TAKEOVER ARTIST – (12/21/2020)

Miley Cyrus will be the NFL Network’s Takeover Artist during the run-up to Christmas. 

The singer made the announcement on Instagram Friday (December 18th).  She captioned a video of herself in a skin-tight vinyl leotard throwing the football round with, “Don’t hate the player. Hate the game.” 

Cyrus told the NFL Network’s MJ Acosta-Ruiz that she doesn’t do many things that her father and brothers think are cool but that “some of my greatest memories are playing football with my dad.”

The singer continued to share football-themed images on Instagram all weekend with captions like, “Wide Receiver is my drag name” and “Offensive Positions…My next album title”. 

KYLIE JENNER GETS TARGETED BY ANIMAL ACTIVISTS AFTER SHUTTING DOWN BALENCIAGA STORE FOR PRIVATE SHOPPING – (12/21/2020)

The Kardashian-Jenner crew has come under fire for living their best glam lives, despite the pandemic. After getting slammed for hosting private birthday parties (Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner), ignoring lockdown orders to jet off on vacations, now Kylie Jenner is getting criticized for shutting down a Balenciaga store on Rodeo Drive for private browsing, then shopping at nearby Moncler, where animal activists targeted her.

TMZ reports that the activists were holding a protest already nearby, then heard that Kylie, who wears fur on occasion, was shopping at the fur-selling Moncler. They descended on her car with megaphones, yelling, “Shame on you,” “You’re a monster,” and “Animals are skinned alive.”

She was hemmed in her Rolls Royce by the protesters for a bit, but her driver eventually got them out.

STAFFERS QUIT OVER TOM CRUISE MELTDOWN AS SUSPICIOUS PHOTOS EMERGE – (12/18/2020)

Five staff members have walked off Mission Impossible. This comes after Tom Cruise had not one, but two meltdowns this week over what he sees as a lackadaisical approach to basic COVID protocols on set. 

His rant made news earlier this week, and now, sources tell The Sun that the set is still tense. “The first outburst was big but things haven’t calmed since. Tension has been building for months and this was the final straw. Since it became public there has been more anger and several staff have walked.

“But Tom just can’t take any more after all the lengths they have gone to just to keep filming at all. He’s upset others aren’t taking it as seriously as him. In the end, he’s the one who carries the can.”

Cruise has gone to extraordinary measures to make the set safe. As a producer of the seventh installment, he has helped set up a cruise ship allowing staff to isolate.

But many on social media and in Hollywood see his point. George Clooney and Whoopi Goldberg are among the bold-faced names saying he is absolutely right, even if they wouldn’t have addressed the issue in the same way. Others were less sympathetic. Longtime critics Leah Remini wrote on her blog: “Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity. Tom does not believe in family values.”

But TMZ dug up photos of Cruise on set of Mission Impossible where Cruise himself isn’t following protocol. He’s shown chatting with Hayley Atwell at a shoot in Rome, and while the pair are wearing masks, hers is below her nose. In another, he is seen maskless while she is again wearing the mask under her nose.

TAYLOR SWIFT MOVED ‘EVERMORE’ RELEASE FOR PAUL MCCARTNEY: Taylor Swift moved the release date of evermore as a courtesy to Paul McCartney. The Beatle told Howard Stern that the two discussed the release dates of their forthcoming albums while shooting a Rolling Stone cover together. Swift had to adjust her launch date twice to avoid debuting her second album of 2020 on the same day as McCartney III. McCartney said she originally planned to release evermore on December 10th but switched to the 18th because she thought that was his release date. “And then she found out we were coming out on the 18th so she moved back to the 10th. So I mean, you know, people do keep out of each other’s way. It’s a nice thing to do.”

CARDI B RETURNS TO TV WITH ‘CARDI TRIES________’ – (12/18/2020)

Cardi B has announced that she has a new show on Facebook Messenger called Cardi Tries ______. The eight episode show finds the rapper trying out stunt car racing, firefighting and teaching.  On the first episode, Cardi is taught ballet by Debbie Allen.

According to Deadline, Celebrity guests like Michelle Rodriguez, NBA star Damian Lillard, and country singer Mickey Guyton will be featured on the upcoming episodes.

Cardi told BET in a statement, “I just really want people to have a good time watching this show, bring happiness, bring smiles, bring laughter.  2020 has been a very dry, sad ass, f***ing year for everybody.”

New episodes of “Cardi Tries ____” will premiere each Thursday through Feb. 4th.

TWITTER REACTS AS TOM CRUISE SCREAMS AT CREW FOR DROPPING COVID GUIDELINES – (12/17/2020)

Tom Cruise was recorded dressing down crew members who he felt were abandoning COVID guidelines on the set of Mission: Impossible 7. In a two-minute recording released first by The Sun, the 58-year-old yelled at the production team for neglecting social distancing guidelines.

Cruise said: [“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing. I’m on the phone with every f—— studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you m—–f——s. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”] 

He said: “No apologies. You can tell it to the people who are losing their f—— homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education. That’s what I sleep with every night — the future of this f—–g industry! So I’m sorry, I’m beyond your apologies.”

Cruise added: “I have told you, and now I want it, and if you don’t do it, you’re out. We are not shutting this f—— movie down! Is it understood? … Am I clear? Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason, and if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired. That’s it. That is it. I trust you guys to be here.”

On Twitter, Cruise got support. Wrote one: “I wish MORE people in charge would react like this to people who violate protocols or not wearing masks. If only more people saw the bigger picture that Tom is highlighting here.”

HILARY DUFF SAYS ‘LIZZIE’ REBOOT WON’T HAPPEN – (12/17/2020)

Hilary Duff is sharing the sad news that the Lizzie McGuire reboot is dead, despite everyone’s best efforts and fans’ hopes. 

“I’ve been so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life. She has made such a lasting impact on many, including myself. To see the fans’ loyalty and love for her, to this day, means so much to me,” Duff wrote. “I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work, but sadly & despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen.”

“I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today,” she explained. “It’s what the character deserves.”

The actress concluded, “We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn’t align. Hey now, this is what 2020s made of.” 

The reboot was announced with much fanfare in August of 2019, and it was set for Disney+, but after a first look at the series was shared, disagreements on-set began burbling to the surface. Duff was on board to reprise her original role as Lizzie, now as a grown-up in NYC. Word soon broke that original creator Terri Minsky was exiting over creative differences, and she and Duff expressed interest in moving the show to Hulu so that they could explore more mature themes. 

Clearly, creative challenges coupled with the pandemic spelled doom for the project… at least for now.

PRINCES WILLIAM AND HARRY ARE DEMANDING ANSWERS ABOUT DIANA’S 1995 INTERVIEW – (12/17/2020)

Princes William and Harry are both demanding answers amid an investigation into Princess Diana’s 1995 Panorama interview, which some say happened because the journalist Martin Bashir used unethical means to land it. During the interview, Diana made several revelations about her troubled marriage to Prince Charles, and revealed for the first time, that he allegedly cheated on her with Camilla, whom he is now married to. 

A source tells Us: “William is demanding answers and is determined to get to the bottom of it and to find out the truth. For William, this particular interview is still very raw. Harry is angry about the interview and shadiness of it all, too.”

Their investigation is bringing the estranged pair back together though, an insider says. 

“The investigation has had a positive effect on William and Harry’s relationship,” the source explains. “They’ve bonded over it and are speaking more frequently on Zoom and WhatsApp. William has come to terms with the reasons behind Harry’s decision to leave the royal family and is happy to see his brother so settled, and Harry’s come to the realization that he no longer wants a dark cloud hanging over his head.”

Diana’s controversial interview made headlines again recently after William released a statement supporting the investigation.

EMMA CORRIN WADES INTO THE CROWN CONTROVERSY: Emma Corrin, who plays Princess Diana in the hit Netflix series The Crown, weighed in on whether she thought the Netflix series should be labeled as a work of fiction as Diana’s brother and members of the U.K. government believe. She told Variety: “This is fictitious in the same way people don’t mistake Succession for what actually happened with the Murdochs. I also understand [the request] comes from a place of sensitivity and protectiveness of the royal family and Diana.”
