TOM HANKS ‘HAS NO RESPECT’ FOR PEOPLE NOT WEARING MASKS – (07/08/2020)

Tom Hanks appeared on The Today Show Tuesday in his first live interview since he and wife Rita Wilson were diagnosed with COVID-19 in March. He appeared frustrated at the resistance to “simple” guidelines like wearing masks.

Hanks said: [“The idea of doing one’s part should be so simple. Wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands. That alone means you are contributing to the betterment of your house, your work, your town, society as a whole and it’s such a small thing and I don’t it’s a mystery to me how somehow that has been wiped out of what should be ingrained in the behavior of us all.”]

He added: “Let’s not confuse the fact, it’s killing people. You can argue what the numbers are … it’s killing people.”

Hanks said his World War II movie Greyhound, which drops Friday on Apple+, speaks to the moment we’re in.

“There was a sensibility (during that time” that permeated all of society which was: do your part, we’re all in this together,” Hanks said. “What that meant — doing your part — was there was a tiny bit of stuff that you could do in order to aid the ongoing status of an effort that had no sign of its conclusion.”

Now Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas have revealed they are still reworking the autobiography, so they have pulled the project from Macmillan Publishers’ release schedule until further notice.

Blood, written with biographer Neil Strauss, is described as “a totally unfiltered memoir about three brothers who learn that blood is thicker than fame.”

According to the book’s official website, Blood “details the incredible true story of the Jonas Brothers, from the band’s creation, phenomenal rise to superstardom, break up at the height of their fame, and now reunification.”

CHRISSY TEIGEN CLAPS BACK OVER CLAIMS THAT SHE LOST 50 POUNDS, HAS CANCER – (07/08/2020)

Chrissy Teigen has had it with the commentary about her appearance on social media. She shared her skincare routine with fans, and one commenter wrote:  “Ok…this isn’t her or some app that changed her face. I had to look back and forth like 4 times…either she dropped 50 lbs overnight or has cancer…this isn’t right.”

After seeing the comment, Teigen replied, “What would you prefer?”

But the troll didn’t back down. She wrote: “Your bone structure is prominent and recognizable…this shot, looks like a completely different person. Did 2-3 double takes. How did you do it?”

They then added: “Apologies for the lack of tact fullness…should have thought ahead,” the social media user wrote in a another comment. “But, why did I have to go back and forth 3-4 x to make sure it was you? Is it an app? It’s not about skincare, but bone structure is completely different…you’re unrecognizable.”

Teigen replied again, writing: “Why are you carrying on with this?? Why do you think I owe you anything especially after what you’ve said? You know you don’t actually know me in real life, right? Thank God.”

CHARLIE PUTH CALLS OUT FANDOMS FOR ‘DANGEROUS, TOXIC’ STAN CULTURE – (07/07/2020)

Charlie Puth called out BTS fans over the weekend for rude comments directed at him on TikTok.

Some fans of the K-pop boy band accused him of trying to piggyback off the group’s popularity for his own gain on social media platforms.

After seeing the comments, Charlie went onto shut down toxic negativity. “This dangerous, toxic, internet screaming match between ‘fandoms’ has to stop,” Charlie wrote in a series of tweets. “I’m 28 years old, so it doesn’t really mean anything to me when some person I don’t know writes a nasty message to me saying things like ‘I used BTS for clout.’ I don’t know what that means- I love those guys and they are super talented.”

While the controversy seemingly came out of nowhere, it may stem from a radio interview Puth gave back in 2018, in which he expressed an interest in collaborating with the boy band and admired their passionate fanbase, known as A.R.M.Y. He later performed a duet of his 2016 single “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with BTS member Jungkook at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards.

In conclusion, Puth wrote: “It may sound cliché, but please be nicer to each other on here. No more screaming about made up nonsense. It does nobody any good. We all need to love each other MORE THAN EVER RIGHT NOW.“

BTS’ Twitter fans reacted with some confusion, citing a difference between the group’s Twitter and TikTok fans. One BTS fan apologized on behalf of the fandom, saying that those fans don’t reflect what the Army is about.

TOM HANKS SLAMS PEOPLE WHO DON’T WEAR MASKS – (07/02/2020)

Please note the following story contains language that could be considered offensive.

Tom Hanks is not here for people who are not wearing masks. As many will recall, Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were among the first celebs to reveal that they tested positive for COVID-19. Since then, they have been outspoken advocates of prevention and treatment.

At a press conference promoting his upcoming film Greyhound, he said: “There’s really only three things we can do in order to get to tomorrow: Wear a mask, social distance, wash our hands.”

He continued: “Those things are so simple, so easy, if anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things – I just think shame on you. Don’t be a p—-, get on with it, do your part. It’s very basic. If you’re driving a car, you don’t go too fast, you use your turn signal and you avoid hitting pedestrians. My Lord, it’s common sense.”

Instead of being released in theaters as planned, Greyhound will hit Apple+ instead on July 10.

JENNIFER HUDSON, MILEY CYRUS, AND MORE HELP GLOBAL CITIZEN RAISE $6.9 BILLION FOR WORLDWIDE COVID-19 RELIEF – (06/30/2020)

Artists including Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and many others came together on Saturday for Global Goal: Unite for Our Future, which collectively raised nearly seven billion dollars for COVID-19 relief.

Hosted by Dwayne Johnson, the online Global Citizen summit and concert featured an impressive lists of singers, actors and other celebrities to help raise funds “to combat the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.”

“The year 2020 has come to be a defining period that has impacted all of us around the world in ways we could have never imagined,” said Dwayne Johnson. “As we’re doing our very best to process the unprecedented hardships this new virus can cause, we also continue to witness another ongoing disease that plagues our world for decades – centuries even: oppression and inequality.”

He called George Floyd’s death in police custody a “flashpoint.”

“In the face of both of these ongoing fights, we must recognize that the people living in poverty are the ones whose health is at greatest risk. It’s no surprise that they’re also the ones who suffer most when economies fail. Our Black Americans and people of color all around the world have been hit the hardest during these unprecedented times,” he said. Access and equality are fundamental rights that “we cannot allow to be dictated by income or race. The future depends on what we do today. And today, we unite for our future.”

The opening performer, Hudson, sang “Where Peaceful Waters Flow” from the deck of a boat floating down the Chicago River, while the For Love Choir performed an a capella rendition of Beyoncé’s “Freedom” from a hilltop in Santa Clarita County, California.

Other performers for the two-hour NBC broadcast include Shakira, Quavo, J Balvin, Yemi Alade and Christine and the Queens.

Cyrus performing a countrified version of The Beatles’ “Help!” from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

Coldplay contributed a brightly hued video of their song “Paradise,” prefaced by a quote from Nelson Mandela: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”

Gospel icon Kirk Franklin joined with Tori Kelly and Christian music duo For King and Country to perform “Together,” interspersed with photos and footage of last month’s protests.

The original Broadway cast of Hamilton contributed their virtual Tonight Show performance of the Schuyler Sisters-led “Helpless” with the help of star/creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Tonight Show house band The Roots and Tony winner Daveed Diggs.

Hugh Jackman reunited the original stars of the X-Men franchise after 20 years.

And there was some sabotage by Ryan Reynolds. The Deadpool star looped in younger members of the X-Men franchise like James McAvoy and Sophie Turner, who apologized, thinking she’d logged into a Game of Thrones reunion.” In a failed effort to keep her interested, Reynolds interjected: “You know, Tyrion Lannister was in an X-Men film.”

The effort raised an incredible $6.9 billion during the event.

JUSTIN BIEBER SUES SEXUAL ASSAULT ACCUSERS FOR DEFAMATION – (06/26/2020)

Justin Bieber has decided to take legal action against two women who have claimed that he sexually assaulted them. As previously reported, one woman, who identified herself as Danielle, claimed on Twitter that the singer sexually assaulted her on March 9, 2014 at the Four Seasons hotel in Austin, Texas. The second woman named Kadi tweeted that the singer assaulted her in New York City in May 2015. Bieber immediately denied the allegations on Twitter.

Now, according to TMZ, Bieber is suing the accusers for what he calls “malicious” claims and says they are “factually impossible.” According to the legal docs, Bieber has “indisputable documentary evidence” to prove the sexual assault claims are “outrageous, fabricated lies.”

Bieber said that Danielle fabricated her story based on public reports that he ate at the Four Seasons Restaurant on March 10, 2014. And as for Kadi, Bieber says she’s a superfan who often waits outside hotels for him but she has never met him — and has admitted it in her own tweets. He claimed that she fabricated her story because she knew Bieber attended the Met Gala on May 2, 2014.

CARDI B DENIES DISSING FEMALE RAPPERS ON FAKE INSTAGRAM – (06/26/2020)

#CardiBIsOverParty was trending on social media yesterday (June 25th) after it was reported that the rapper created a fake Instagram account to say mean things about Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion and Ariana Grande. Cardi denied making the Fake Instagram, saying, “So I woke up…I’m seeing that they’re trying to make this Cardi B Is Canceled Party…I’m seeing these people, I guess they’re editing or claiming I have a fake Instagram. These people must think I’m a 15 year old girl, and they claim Lil Kim and my hairstylist, makeup artist and sister follows the page. They never did. They even made fake Photoshopped comments from my hairstylist, which we proved was fake.”

On Kim, she said, “I don’t even speak to Lil Kim. I’m going to have to check my DMs…I don’t personally know her that well,”

On rumors that she created the page to diss Nicki, she said, “They’re claiming I was talking about this girl that I clearly…you know, everybody knows our issues,”

She continued, “Ariana Grande? I don’t even have a problem with her. Why would I talk about her? I like her music. I never had a problem with her….Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion ..  I don’t even know why you guys want me to have issues with these people so badly. ‘Oh she hates every female.’ I’m not even like that…stop trying to make this fake sh*t up…don’t make lies about me. it’s tiring. It’s annoying.”
