BEYONCE OPENS UP ABOUT DIFFICULT PREGNANCY IN ‘HOMECOMING’ DOCUMENTARY – (04/18/2019)

Beyoncé broke the net on Tuesday night (April 16th) and Wednesday (April 17th) with the release of her Netflix documentary, HOMECOMING: A film by Beyoncé. In the film, which gave fans an intimate look into Bey’s 2018 Coachella performance, she also shared her the struggles she faced while preparing for the show. Bey revealed, “My body went through more than I knew it could. I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy. I had high blood pressure. I developed toxemia, preeclampsia, and in the womb, one of my babies’ heart beats paused a few times, so I needed to get an emergency C-section.”

Bey continued, “In order for me to meet my goals, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol … I’m hungry. It’s not like before when I could rehearse 15 hours straight. I have children. I have a husband. I have to take care of my body.”

When speaking on performing after giving birth to twins, Bey also said, “There were days that I thought I’d never be the same… physically, and my strength and endurance would never be the same. I learned a valuable lesson: I will never, never push myself that far again. I feel like I’m a new woman in a new chapter of my life and I’m not even trying to be who I was.”

In other news, according to VIBE, the audio of Bey’s 2016 visual album, Lemonade, will be available to streaming platforms next week. Variety reports that the album will be available on Tuesday, April 23rd, which is the three-year anniversary of the film’s debut on HBO.

MASSIVE ‘AVENGERS: ENDGAME’ LEAKS REPORTEDLY HIT SOCIAL MEDIA – (04/17/2019)

Marvel fans should stay off social media if they don’t want to be assaulted by spoilers for the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. Although Disney and Marvel have gone to heroic lengths to prevent any Avengers-related spoilers, it seems that a serious chunk of legit footage leaked online before the film’s premiere.

In a bid to protect fans’ sanity and our own bodily health, we won’t describe what leaked, but according to reports, the footage comprised about five minutes worth of footage from throughout the film, and it appears to divulge several plot points.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26th so fans who don’t want to be surprised until then should avoid the gifs, short clips and detail-filled posts on social media.

While Disney has not yet commented, observers say that the person behind the leak must have had clearance to view the footage. Experts say the leak may only drum up interest in the film, instead of suppressing fan turnout.

“If anything this scandal is only serving to ratchet up the level of conversation related to the film and raising the awareness of it to even higher levels,” Paul Dergarabedian, senior analyst at Comscore, tells CNBC.

Endgame is the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is expected to resolve events in the Infinity War, in which half of the heroes were destroyed. It may also be the last film for multiple Marvel heroes.

THE SONG LUKE BRYAN AND LIONEL RICHIE WILL SING AT KATY PERRY’S WEDDING – (04/17/2019)

Katy Perry has been so busy with American Idol that she claims she hasn’t even started planning her wedding to fiancé Orlando Bloom.

But when the wedding does take place, fellow Idol judge Luke Bryan says he knows exactly which song he and fellow judge Lionel Richie should sing at the event.

Asked about wedding plans, Katy told the EXTRA, “Oh, my God. I’m not even in the mode. I’m just worried about my Top 10 right now.”

To which Lionel replied, “No matter what, I’m there.” Katy then joked that because Lionel had invited himself, he and Luke would “have to sing for free” at the reception.

Luke chimed in, “‘Endless Love!’ I’ll be Diana. Lionel’s Lionel. ‘Endless Love,’ baby.”

“Endless Love” was Lionel Richie’s 1981 No. 1 duet with Diana Ross. Recorded for the Brooke Shields movie of the same name, the duet spent nine weeks on top of the chart and earned Lionel an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.

KATY PERRY SPILLS ON WHICH ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ CONTESTANT ORLANDO BLOOM WANTED HER TO SAVE – (04/17/2019)

Katy Perry sent Alyssa Raghu to the Top 10 on Monday night’s episode of American Idol, but it was another performer her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, wanted her to protect.

“He was texting me and telling me who to save!” Katy told ET after the show. “He was like, ‘You better save Dimitrius [Graham], and I was like, ‘Don’t worry! We got this one .’”

Fellow judge Luke Bryan used his save for Graham, while Lionel Richie went rogue, saving Uche before his cue.

Perry confirmed that neither she nor Luke had any idea what was going on when it happened. “We had no idea, first of all, because I asked the producers during commercial break,” she said. “I was like, ‘Was that scripted? Did you guys plan that?’ And they were like, ‘None of this is scripted,’ … Lionel Richie just took it!”

“Lionel Richie pulled a ‘I’m Lionel Richie,’“ Bryan laughed. “He hadn’t pulled that card yet! He said, ‘I’m Lionel Richie! I don’t care what nobody says!’“

Richie – who initially passed on Uche during auditions – was so impressed by the singer’s performance of “Diamonds” that he couldn’t wait to get him in the Top 10.

The Top 10 are headed to Disneyland next week, where Rebel Wilson is the guest mentor.

ARIANA GRANDE CLOSES COACHELLA WITH COLLABS FEATURING *NSYNC, NICKI MINAJ, DIDDY AND MA$E – (04/16/2019)

Ariana Grande closed out Weekend One of Coachella in style, putting together a set that included special guests and stunning visuals.

She made history with the first note as she became the youngest person at 25 ever to headline at Coachella. She also became just the fourth woman and didn’t ease into her performance, either. She kicked off her set with a bang, belting her way through “God Is A Woman.”

The much-rumored reunion of *NSYNC did happen as the band (minus Justin Timberlake) came out to sing her song “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.” It’s a song which uses a reworking of the lyrics to *NSYNC’s song “It Makes Me Ill.”

They then sang their hit, “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” while Grande sang and did the iconic dance moves with the group. In a cute twist, the video screens showed ripples and old numbers as though the audience was watching a VHS tape of the performance. The guys thanked the crowd and left. Grande said “I can die now” as they exited.

But that was just the start of the surprise guests. Moments later Nicki Minaj arrived to sing “Side to Side.” The two left the stage, walking out onto a bridge along with about 12 dancers. While there, they also sang “Bang! Bang!” the hit song they collaborated on with Jessie J. That part was not without its technical problems as Minaj’s microphone didn’t seem to always be working.

Later in the set P. Diddy and Mase came on to sing “Mo Money, Mo Problems” as images of Biggie Smalls showed on the center screen.

Grande belted some of her biggest hits “Dangerous Woman” and “Break Free. Her second-to-last song was “No Tears Left To Cry” which she actually also sang at Coachella last year when she did a surprise performance with Kygo and sang the then-newly released single.

Grande ended by listening to the crowd as they shouted “Thank U, Next” in unison as she pretended to be done without playing her signature hit.

The final images she left her fans with was a rippling pride flag on the big screens and fireworks in the sky.

According to Variety, Ariana raked in $8 million for the gig for stepping in after discussions with Kanye West broke down over staging issues at the last minute.

BEBE REXHA REVEALS BIPOLAR DIAGNOSIS – (04/16/2019)

Bebe Rexha has revealed that she has been diagnosed as bipolar.

“For the longest time, I didn’t understand why I felt so sick. Why I felt lows that made me not want to leave my house or be around people and why I felt highs that wouldn’t let me sleep, wouldn’t let me stop working or creating music. Now I know why,” the 29-year-old singer wrote on her Twitter account. “I’m bipolar and I’m not ashamed anymore. That is all. (Crying my eyes out.)”

She also shared that the diagnosis inspired her new approach to making music.

Bebe continued, “This next album will be favorite album ever because I’m not holding anything back. I love you all very much. And I hope you accept me as I am.”

A day earlier, Rexha took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude to all the fans who have continually supported her throughout her career.

“That means everything to me,” she said during an Instagram Video Sunday. “So today I am grateful for all my fans and for all the people who believed in me and supported me. So, I guess thank you very much if you’re watching this.”

Rexha shared screenshots of her emotional tweets on Instagram, captioning the post, “Honesty is a form of self love.”

DUA LIPA VISITS LEBANON WITH UNICEF TO MEET REFUGEE CHILDREN – (04/16/2019)

Dua Lipa is opening up about her “eye-opening” experience spending time with refugee children in Lebanon.

The 23-year-old Grammy winner traveled to Lebanon this week to meet children and young people supported by UNICEF, including many uprooted by the eight-year conflict in Syria.

Dua spoke to vulnerable children and young people about the obstacles they face in their daily lives, in obtaining an education, and in finding jobs and opportunities. As part of her visit, Dua visited projects implemented in Terbol informal settlement in the Bekaa valley by Lebanese NGO LOST, a UNICEF youth partner organization.

“You can read about the conditions or see the challenges on TV, but you don’t really feel the absolute dire circumstances for refugees from Syria until you see them for yourself,” Dua said in a statement. “But the most powerful thing I saw was hope. In Terbol, I met a wonderful young girl called Yazee. She’s fifteen. She dreams of one day going back to Syria and starting a business applying makeup. And in spite of all of the excuses she could have to give up, she is every day studying and practicing and learning her craft so she can one day make her dream real.”

After the Top 14’s first round of performances, America got to vote to secure their top seven contestants to move on to the Top 10. Last night, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan had to decided which three of the remaining seven would go on and which four would go home.

The decision wasn’t easy, but the judges chose Uché, Dimitrius Graham and Alyssa Raghu to move on to the Top 10. Richie voted to put Uche through. Bryan chose to save Graham, while Perry opted to keep Raghu. Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for Evelyn Cormier, Riley Thompson, Eddie Island and Ashley Hess.

GAME OF THRONES REVEALS FATE OF ED SHEERAN’S CHARACTER: Fans were not impressed with Ed Sheeran’s Game of Thrones cameo last season, and in Sunday night’s premiere of the HBO mega-hit, they learned the fate of “Eddie.” Sadly, Bronn (Jerome Flynn) discovers that he was a victim of dragon fire. As one of the three women he was sleeping with on the show told him, “That boy Eddie came back with his face burned right off. He’s got no eyelids now.” Sheeran got so much criticism for his appearance—which included a campfire sing-along—he deleted his Twitter account. HBO also dropped a preview for episode two of the show’s final season.

ARIANA GRANDE SHARES BRAIN SCAN SHOWING PTSD – (04/15/2019)

Ariana Grande is sharing her battle with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The 25-year-old singer illustrated her struggle with the condition Thursday by posting a brain scan on Instagram Stories showing her high levels of PTSD.

Grande shared a screenshot of a group text message. She sent a photo of a normal brain scan, which was largely dark, a scan of a brain with PTSD, which had some highlighted areas, and her own scan, which was mainly light.

“hilarious and terrifying,” the star captioned the post. Later she apologized for freaking her fans out with the post.

In a note posted on her Instagram Story, Ari wrote, “Didn’t mean to startle anyone with my brain thingy. it just blew me away. i found it informative and interesting and wanted to encourage y’all to make sure you check on your brains/listen to your bodies/take care of yourselves, too.”

“i love science and seeing the physical reality of what’s going in there was incredible to me,” she continued. “i mean, i feel it all the time but seeing it is totally different and super cool.”

Grande said in the July issue of British Vogue she was experiencing “signs of PTSD” following the Manchester bombing in May 2017. A suicide bomber killed 22 people and wounded 139 at Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena in Great Britain.

“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing,” the singer said. “I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well.”

“Time is the biggest thing,” she added. “I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”

Grande has been open about her mental health following the bombing as well as the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller in September.

Grande will return to Manchester in August to headline Manchester Pride. She last released the single “Monopoly” with Victoria Monét this month.

She is currently on her Sweetener international tour, and this weekend, she is set to become the youngest female artist to headline at Coachella.

In April, Grande released “No Tears Left to Cry,” the first song off her album Sweetener. At a concert Saturday, she teased another new track, “The Light Is Coming,” which will feature Nicki Minaj and is set to arrive June 20th.

Grande’s supporters have expressed concern for the 25-year-old on social media. Many are urging her to take time away from the spotlight to heal.

You’re gonna rock that neck brace and soon we’ll all be bopping at shows together again…I’m so happy you’re okay.” Sizemore said, “I never in a million years expected to receive flowers from her. I don’t know how she even knew of me or me being in a neck brace or a bad car accident. She’s like a magical fairy godmother.” “She has eased the pain of a broken leg, neck, back, finger and 11 ribs,” she added.

The fan also updated her feed Tuesday on her health progress, writing, “On a side note, I did so good getting up out of bed today! My strength is increasing.”

This isn’t Taylor’s first act of kindness this week. She also donated $113,000 to the LGBTQ organization, Tennessee Equality Project.

DUA LIPA REVEALS THE BEST ADVICE KATY PERRY EVER GAVE HER – (04/11/2019)

Dua Lipa was warned by Katy Perry not to “search [her] name” online.

The 23-year-old singer has said that when she first started making a name for herself, she was approached by Katy and advised not to look at search results of herself online, because she would end up getting “upset” by any criticism she saw.

In the cover story for ELLE’s May issue, Dua said, “When I met Katy Perry, she was like, ‘I hope you don’t search your name. She was like, ‘That’s what I did at the beginning of my career, and I’d get upset about every tabloid that said something about me.’ She said, ‘Do not have notifications on. Do not read that s**t, because it will stop you from doing what you love.’”

Katy isn’t the only star to have given Dua some advice – she was also told to “be kind” to herself by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

She added, “Chris Martin also said to me, ‘Be kind to yourself.’ I thought it was so weird that he would say that – what does that even mean?” Although she didn’t understand his words at first, she now realizes they go hand-in-hand with Katy’s wisdom.

Dua also opened about her Grammy wins and what fans can expect from her forthcoming second album.

In her speech after winning the Grammy for best new artist in February, the star famously called out outgoing Recording Academy president Neil Portnow’s comment from last year’s ceremony that female artists should “step up” if they wanted to be nominated for more awards. “I didn’t plan it,” she told Elle. “It just came out of my mouth. But it felt right; it was obviously shade, but at the same time, he’s spoken about it and he knows what he did.”

She also hinted at the sound of her upcoming sophomore LP in the interview, though fans may have to wait a while longer to hear new music.

“It’s a mixture of stuff,” she said, “from what it felt like to grow up as a girl and be scared to walk home at night to when the whole world lets you down and what it feels like to enjoy life again. I’m hoping to get the album out by the end of this year or the beginning of next. I haven’t decided my track list yet, but they’re all songs you can sing along to. You make music so people can sing along, but you also make it to tell a story in the hopes that someone feels the same way.”

FOSTER THE PEOPLE’S MARK FOSTER APOLOGIZES TO IMAGINE DRAGONS’ DAN REYNOLDS – (04/11/2019)

Mark Foster of Foster The People took to social media on Wednesday to publicly apologize to Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds after Foster threw major shade during an interview.

Last September, while chatting with ALT 105.7’s Wendy Rollins, Foster was asked what the band does with the music that doesn’t make their albums. Foster quickly replied, “We give it to Imagine Dragons.” Both bands have long been compared to each other and apparently Foster had had enough.

But on Wednesday, the lead vocalist took to Twitter to write an apology to Reynolds and the rest of Imagine Dragons.

“I have been burdened by something that I feel I need to amend… in a passing moment last year, I let some words come out of my mouth that don’t reflect who I am, or what I stand for,” he wrote. “As people with platforms there comes a responsibility to lead by example. I truly believe that if artists are supportive of each other and stood together, united that we can be a positive healing force in the world.”

Foster then revealed he hopes to see a change in himself, “I have always thought of myself as being shoulder to shoulder on that frontline, but I think along the way I lost some of my focus.”

He added, “I’m not writing this because someone asked me too. I’m not sending to my team or label or anybody for their thoughts to approve. This is just me unfiltered saying I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

Foster signed off by promising Reynolds his support in the future, writing, “Keep fighting the good fight, Dan. You have my pledge to work alongside you if you ever need a hand. Much respect to you and continued success in your music.”
