DEMI LOVATO FIRES TRAINER; SLAMS FAN FOR CRITICIZING HER DECISION – (11/20/2018)
Demi Lovato’s near-fatal overdose has led to her reassessing who her real friends are. Two weeks after she left rehab and returned to L.A., where she is splitting her time between her mom Dianna De La Garza’s home and a sober living facility, some Instagram comments she’s posted suggest she’s still sorting out her inner circle in a post-overdose world. That includes the singer figuring out who her real friends are.
Over the weekend, a fan posted about the singer’s team being “rotten” and claimed they “only care about her money.” The fan’s comments were related to Lovato axing her longtime trainer Danielle Martin, who the fan said “really cares about Demi’s health” while claiming others she was friends with – like her dancers – didn’t have Lovato’s best interests at heart.
That prompted more than one response from Lovato, who fired back, “You have no idea what you’re talking about,” followed that with, “True friends don’t do interviews about you when you OD.” When fans speculated she was speaking negatively about former backup dancer Dani Vitale, the star quickly responded, writing, “I’m not talking about Dani Vitale,” making it clear she was referring to Martin.
Martin had just given an interview to Radar Online saying she was deeply “hurt” by being fired by Lovato, who overdosed in July from oxy-laced fentanyl. “I lost my job for speaking up for her, to be honest,” Martin said. “Pretty sad. I did nothing but empower her. Nothing bad to say. The people around her I’m sure were happy to run to her. They told her I was taking the situation and making it all about me. I’d never do that. Not ever. I was standing up for her. That’s all.”
But Martin, who specializes in martial arts, had also spoken about Lovato right after the overdose in an interview with Inside Edition, saying, “She obviously admitted that she was relapsing. She had missed some sessions with me and it was upsetting and I knew why.”
Vitale also spoke out about Lovato’s overdose, denying rumors that she provided the superstar with drugs. “I have NEVER touched nor even SEEN a drug in my entire life,” the dancer wrote on Instagram in August. “I DO NOT DO DRUGS, nor would I ever encourage, or supply them to anyone I love.”

‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ CROWNS BOBBY BONES AS ITS SEASON 27 CHAMPION – (11/20/2018)
Dancing with the Stars has a surprising new champion. On Monday’s live finale of the reality dancing competition series, the four remaining couples – Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess, Milo Manheim and Witney Carson, and Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe – went head-to-head as they competed for the Mirrorball Trophy.
They managed to survive a season that included a historic run by low-scoring Bachelor in Paradise alum Joe Amabile and the shocking eliminations of high-scoring celebs Tinashe and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The finalists performed two dances on the finale: first, their most memorable number from the season and second, a freestyle for judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.
While it was a tight competition, radio show host Bones was declared the Season 27 winner. After being named the champ, Bones said, “Thank you to the people, thank you to Sharna for making all this possible.”
“You are, in very true words, the people’s champion my friend,” said co-host Tom Bergeron. Burgess, who took home her first Mirrorball Trophy, admitted that she is “still processing” the win.
Bones had the fan base, appealing to viewers at home despite having one of the lowest average scores of the season.
Bobby and Sharna’s repeat dance was the Cha Cha to MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” from Trio Night. The judges said they loved the way Bobby puts himself into the dances, and makes it so much fun to watch. Bobby received three 8s, for a total score of 24 out of 30.
Bobby and Sharna’s Freestyle was a big spectacle. “That was the perfect Freestyle for a free spirit!” observed Bruno. “You shone so brightly, Bobby Bones!” cheered Carrie Ann. Bobby and Sharna were shocked when they received three 10s, for a perfect 30 out of 30.
In addition to seeing this season’s celebrity contestants return to the ballroom, audiences were also treated to live musical performances from Robin Thicke, Avril Lavigne, Lauren Daigle and Dan + Shay during the episode.
ABC Announced Bones – alongside fellow DWTS contestants Juan Pablo Di Pace, Joe Amabile, Mary Lou Retton, John Schneider and Milo Manheim – has joined the Dancing with the Stars: Live! A Night to Remember tour, which begins December 15th.
Here’s how the scores played out last night:
Alexis Ren and pro Alan Bersten danced a Swan Lake-inspired Argentine tango for 27/30 and a freestyle for a perfect 30/30
Bobby Bones and pro Sharna Burgess danced MC Hammer-inspired cha-cha for 24/30 and a freestyle for a perfect 30/30.
Milo Manheim and pro Witney Carson danced a New York City-themed Charleston for 30/30 and a freestyle for 30/30.
Evanna Lynch and pro Keo Motsepe danced a Halloween Night tango for 30/30 and a freestyle for 30/30.
INSIDE MANDY MOORE’S WEDDING TO TAYLOR GOLDSMITH – (11/20/2018)
This Is Us star Mandy Moore married Dawes musician Taylor Goldsmith in front of family and friends Sunday afternoon in L.A., E! News reports. An insider tells the publication that it was “an intimate backyard wedding at Mandy’s home that started just after sundown on Sunday evening.”
The look was reportedly “very boho,” with “rugs on the floor” surrounding an altar. Flower arrangements included large feathers, and Moore wore a dress by Rodarte. In a new-deleted post, Moore’s pal and makeup artists Jenn Streicher posted shots of the dress, which is uber girly, with ruffles, flowers and a cotton-candy pink hue.
Moore, 34, and Goldsmith, 32, celebrated with pals—including Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Wilmer Valderrama, Milo Ventimiglia and Minka Kelly—at private event space The Fig House.
Instead of a formal dinner, they opted for a “number of food stations around the venue, including meat, chicken, vegetarian, raw food, flat bread, cheese and charcuterie and more.” Beverages included a whiskey station and a ton of wine. Goldsmith took a break from celebrating to perform with Jackson Brown, Jonathan Rice, Blake Mills and Lenny Goldsmith.
Moore and Goldsmith got engaged in 2017 after dating for two years.
Moore has not yet posted about her dress, but did share that her beloved cat Madeline died on Saturday after a long struggle with heart disease.
A BIZARRE MONTH AHEAD FOR MEGHAN MARKLE WITH CHRISTMAS WEIGH-INS & T-DAY TABOOS – (11/20/2018)
The holidays are nigh, and Meghan Markle is about to celebrate her first Thanksgiving and Christmas as a royal. By all accounts, it’s going to be pretty weird.
THANKSGIVING
First up, T-day. Some question whether the American-born Meghan will be “allowed” to celebrate the holiday, seeing as it commemorates that time many English-born pilgrims set forth on a long and dangerous voyage to flee political and religious persecution in their homeland.
Last year, Meghan celebrated with her mother Doria Ragland in California. What will happen? TBD, but the Queen reportedly hasn’t forbidden a celebration by royal decree, and Meghan and Prince Harry don’t have any events scheduled for the day, so she may be indulging in turkey and stuffing behind closed doors?
CHRISTMAS
Meanwhile, hope she doesn’t eat too much gravy, because she will have to be weighed before her Christmas meal, per a juicy new report hailing from royal expert Ingrid Seward.
Apparently, every member of the royal family, including Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, must be weighed before and after dinner on Christmas Day.
Apparently, the Queen asks guests to weigh themselves to ensure they’re being “well fed.”
Once weighed, the guests must enter the dining room “in order of seniority.” Once seated, the head chef carves the turkey and “paper hats are donned, but not by the Queen.”
