THE GRAMMY AWARDS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED – (01/06/2021)
The Grammy Awards have officially been postponed until Sunday, March 14th.
The Recording Academy released a joint statement along with CBS on Tuesday (January 5th) announcing that “after thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear,” the show would no longer take place on January 31st due to concerns related to the coronavirus pandemic.
They said, “The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do. Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.”
According to Rolling Stone, Trevor Noah will remain the host of the event
- DRE HOSPITALIZED AFTER SUFFERING BRAIN ANEURYSM – (01/06/2021)
Dr. Dre was hospitalized on Monday (January 4th) in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm. According to TMZ, sources close to the hip hop mogul say that he was rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center and was taken to ICU and remained there yesterday (January 5th).
As of press time yesterday, the 55-year-old was “stable and lucid” but doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and are running tests.
Dre released a statement on Instagram, last night (January 5th) saying, “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
As previously reported, Dre is currently in the middle of a bitter divorce from estranged wife Nicole Young — who is asking for $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees.
Dre says he’s been paying all of Nicole’s expenses and believes that $2 million is outrageous.
Nicole also wants a judge to reject the prenuptial agreement she signed in 1996, claiming that Dre ripped it up early on in the marriage, which Dre denies.
REPORT: ‘DIVORCE IS IMMINENT’ FOR KANYE WEST AND KIM KARDASHIAN – (01/06/2021)
Just one day after reports came out Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had no plans of divorcing, Page Six is now reporting that “divorce is imminent” between the couple. A source revealed that Kim has quietly hired divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
The source explained, “They are keeping it low key but they are done. Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.” Kim hasn’t been spotted wearing her ring in a while and Kanye spent the holidays at his ranch in Wyoming.
The source said, “Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done.”
WHAT WENT WRONG?
The source added that while Kim has done much in the past to protect and help Kanye deal with his mental health struggles, “Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot.” The source continued, “She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Meanwhile, a separate source said that Kanye has become uncomfortable and irritated by the Kardashians’ over-the-top reality star lives. The source said that Ye “Is completely over the entire family … He wants nothing to do with them” and he found their reality show “unbearable.”
As far as their settlement talks, the source said, “Kim is trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her, because that’s where the kids are based and growing up. That is their home.”
The source added, “She owns all the land and adjoining lots around the house but Kanye owns the actual house. They’ve both put a lot of money into renovating it.”
The source also revealed that “This isn’t the first time they’ve been talking about a split, but this time it is way, way more serious.”
TMZ: KANYE AND KIM ARE IN MARRIAGE COUNSELING
Meanwhile, TMZ is reporting that Kanye and Kim are in marriage counseling and although they’ve discussed divorce, they havent’t given up. Sources say that the marriage has been in trouble for the last six months and Kim was ready to end the marriage but when Kanye was going through his bipolar episode and she felt it was cruel to do it at that time.
They also confirmed that the couple has been living separately and Kim has been going back and forth about whether to leave or stay.
The site also reported that Kim has had Laura Wasser on retainer for years for various reasons and “the subject of divorce was discussed months ago, but Kim never gave the green light to file.”
At this time, no final decision has been mad and they have been in counseling for a while. Their issues “have been neither contentious nor ugly, but they do have lots of differences … from lifestyle to politics. They are, however, fully aligned on parenting.”
The sources also made it clear that there is no “third party” involved.
‘LOVELY’ SURPASSED 1 BILLION YOUTUBE VIEWS – (01/06/2021)
“Lovely” by Billie Eilish and Khalid has surpassed 1 billion YouTube views since its release in April 2018.
According to Pop Crave, this is Khalid’s first and Eilish’s second video to achieve this milestone. “Bad Guy” joined the billion views club in November 2020.
JOE EXOTIC’S DAD DIES AS TEAM PLEADS FOR PARDON: Joe Exotic’s father has died from COVID as his team pleads for a pardon that would allow him to attend Francis Schreibvogel’s funeral. His lawyers are flying to D.C. today to push their case; the funeral is set for Saturday. (TMZ)
QUEEN ELIZABETH CANCELS ALL GARDEN PARTIES + PRINCE HARRY IS LOVING LIFE – (01/06/2021)
Queen Elizabeth has nixed a beloved royal annual series of events. Amid the ongoing pandemic, and the new lockdown in the U.K., the 94-year-old has cancelled all garden parties for the coming year. The trio of parties typically take place at Buckingham Palace every May; she also holds one in Edinburgh at the Holyroodhouse.
These annual parties have been held every year since 1860 and serve as a way for the monarch to recognize public service. Typically, 30,000 people in suits, top hats, dresses and fascinators attend to mingle with royals and eat tea and cake.
All of the royals have been affected by the recent shut-down. Prince George, 7, and Princess Charlotte, 5, saw their schools close, and Prince Louis, 2, is unable to attend nursery school.
PRINCE HARRY
Prince Harry, meanwhile, is thriving since he and Meghan Markle left their senior royal roles.
According to an Us Weekly source, “Harry doesn’t have any regrets about leaving the royal family whatsoever and is really happy in Montecito…he and Meghan are enjoying their new life in California—being a normal family and having the freedom to make their own decisions without anyone watching over them.” The source also added that Harry has “grown in confidence since the move. Harry isn’t looking back, although he does miss his friends at home.”
